I'm booked on that flight a few weeks later. Showing 77W with 24 Q-suites for me. There are a few (4?) ex-CX a/c not reconfigured (have 6 FC seats) but these are said to be used for the HKG runs.
Seems the window side seats go first as that's preferred by solo travellers (11 of 12 reserved). We're the only ones booked in the 3 EF pairs, and actually only seats booked in the whole centre section. Similar situation for the connecting 35K (A350-1000). |

Now I'm still confused, as the B77 W configurations I found are either 2-2-2 or something marked as Q suite that looks to be the same configuration as on the Airbus -- seat at window, aisle, EF or DG, pair, aisle and then window seat. But it has 42 total seats and you say yours has 24. So do you have AB, EF, JK? And is it Qsuite for sure? Maybe I'm looking at and incorrect or outdated version of the 77W.

You can look at aerolopa.com for the various 777 configurations used by QR. By the way, there are 6 former CX planes. They do the HKG run (2 flights) but also many more routes. |
Sorry to piggyback on this thread, but my question is one of downgrading in case of overbooking. I booked QR MIA-BKK-MIA in business class for March. Remaining business class seats on the MIA-DOH flight are all blocked as are those on the BKK-DOH flight. There are a lot of blocked seats in both cases. I have seat assignments DOH-BKK and DOH-MIA, no problem there.
My question is what if there are no seat assignments when I check in? I don't know how often QR overbooks their flights and I fear a downgrade if that's the case. Does anyone have any experience with this? Additionally, I set two alerts on Expert flyer for the flights in question in the hopes that program works (it's failed me in the past). |

Is that an award or paid ticket? If a paid ticket and fare bucket allows it, just call to try to get a seat assigned (unblocked). |
