QR Lounge Access
 

Hi Guys,

Silly question, I hope:

I'm a BA Gold/OneWorld Emerald member, so in theory qualify for lounge access in DOH.

I've seen QR marketing various types of tickets, including a 'business basic', which has no lounge access.

If I was to buy a 'business basic' ticket, would that in effect bar me from lounge access in DOH, even though I'm an Emerald?

Or is it targeted at non-status members who don't/won't intend to use a lounge?

As far as I’m aware, and I’m pretty sure I have used it, you will have lounge access on any ticket.

You’ll get access to the new platinum lounge with BA Gold.

Its the business lite fare (fare class code P)
for the other fare codes you should have access

I have upgraded to Business using avios and I anticipated having no access to Al Mourjan Lounge and only the Saphire Lounge (Gold) but when I looked at the lounge booking I am apparently eligible to the platinum lounge while I am only Saphire OW.

Can someone enlighten me on what are the various rules ?

Status trumps ticket rules on lounge access.

Thanks any reason being granted access to the platinum lounge (while being Saphire only) is it because of upgrade to business ticket ?You are eligible to access this lounge for FREE

Interestingly, I was refused access to the First Class lounge in DOH, despite being a BA Gold Member........so it seems QR to have their own rules ;)

First class lounge based on status in DOH is Platinum lounge. Hope you haven't been refused there. 😉

If it says this on "manage my booking" then there have been past occurrences where it has shown incorrect lounge eligibility. Sapphire should be the Gold Lounge regardless of class.

But not for the AM lounge
