Eu flight delay compensation

Just flown dub to doh and transiting (same ticket) to bkk on QR. 6 hour delay at the moment. Am I entitled to claim under Eu flight delay scheme?

It depends on the reason for the delay.

That's correct, the validity of the claim depends on the reason for the delay.
  1. Yes based on the routing you are able to claim under EU261
    • This would be based on the total time between DUB and BKK, however QR might claim only to look at the EX EU flight DUB-DOH. Be prepared for that argument.
  2. Get a clear message on the reason for the delay, if it was technical, related to the operation of the airline or their subcontractors you would be able to claim. If it was related to anything outside the airline control (weather, closed airspace etc) it would not work.
I read QR is not easy to deal with on this subject. Do let us know how you get along.
