I think there are only 2 male toilets, one of which has a shower.

Looks like a decent lounge, food quality slightly above BA lounge. I do worry if the lounge will get packed on the evenings…

due to the permanent closure of the MH lounge this is the one of the only two OW lounges in T4 (the other one being the QR premium lounge). On the evenings you have two fully packed QR77Ws + a full MH A350 + Oman Air to Muscat departing around the same time…and looks like QR decided to open the lounge to any OW pax with OWS or higher.

They also lumped the two QR flights + MH flight on the same corner at T4 so been always a chaotic mess when boarding. I feel sorry for the QR ground crew as they have to board two full 77Ws within 20 minutes apart and always looks miserable /stressed.

Not sure if anyone who has been to the lounge in the evenings can comment on this?

I was there around 9pm when the 2 QR flights leave close together. There were no more than 12 people in the frequent flyer lounge. I'm not sure if MH are directing their J and elites to Plaza Premium to save some cash...

Ouch that’s quite a downgrade from the old MH lounge….though I wouldn’t be surprised re MH going cheap on lounge access lol

I visited the frequent flyer and premium lounge on 14/09. The Premium lounge got very busy from 7.30pm onwards and whilst still a superb lounge , has lost a lot of its old pre covid sparkle. I thought the food offerings were not as good, the champagne had been downgraded and sadly no more lindt chocs to take away.

The frequent flyer lounge was superp. Almost exactly the same food offerings s the premium lounge. Maybe 8 other passangers in there. on a par with a BA galleries lounge? Really having visited them all id say far superior. In fact , only because of the better wine and champagne offerings , its only a narrow second to galleries first IMO.

thanks for the insight, quite interesting we don’t see heavy traffic given that it’s open to QRPC silver and above, perhaps a sign of dwindling QRPC members haha

Anybody know what time check in opens at T4?

I received a text telling me to arrive 4 hours early for a 8.25AM departure?

That sounds good to me as it's my first time flying F on QR, but I don't want to be sat there waiting for the desk to open!

It's 0425. I was at T4 last week and happened to see the FIDs for the next day and it showed the desk opening times.

It is of course a ridiculously silly to arrive that early and personally I'd arrive 2-2.5 hrs before departure.

checkin might be open but security won’t be! The lounge is nice but not worth 4 hours early. The A380 has had an awful punctuality record at T4 so you might get extra time in the lounge anyway. Enjoy the experience, it’s very good

Thanks, in the end I arrived just before 6 and was in the lounge at 6.10.

The initial check-in is a bit strange, you're suitcase is taken from you, you walk around a screen (that shields you from the envious eyes of Y pax), sit down for a minute, then get your suitcase back and check in at the desk, they've tried to make a premium feel, but was slightly odd.

I went to the wrong lounge initially, it seems pretty unclear! Nobody to greet me at entry so just entered myself, didn't seem organised.

The lounge experience was poor, with 2 380's departing within 35 minutes of each other, I couldn't get a seat anywhere near a window, the lounge was overrun. In the end I had a quick coffee and went and found a peaceful area down near gates 2/3, much better.

As you suggested, departure was 1 hour late in the end!

I enjoyed the experience, but honestly I'd never pay the extra cash/miles to do it again. Having flow Qsuites/Etihad studios for many years, this F seat felt rather exposed, the privacy is most important to me. Can't fault the service as usual, but didn't feel that much different to my Qsuite experiences, did enjoy the Krug though! Looking forward to trying Al Safwa on the return.

i did in July, was delayed almost 2hrs.
checkin was painless and I rather liked the odd set up. The lounge was nice but staff needed more training. A request for 2 Buck’s Fizz was greeted with “what’s that?

my flight however was simply outstanding. The privacy issue did not arise as my wife and I had the cabin to ourselves. The crew were incredible and it was simply too short a flight. My return exposed me to the Al Safwa Cathedral which is fabulous and the return flight with 5 passengers still very good. Still would never pay cash for it!

interestingly I flew Q suites on a 9 hour flight and wasn’t impressed. I was rear facing and the foot just would not close, the seat is hard and it felt claustrophobic. I need to try Q suites again and on a day light service or at least a early evening overnight flight.
