Having a plane load of passengers waiting in hot & stuffy jetbridge for many minutes continues to be a feature of QRs operations at LHR....
Also not sure why Qatar checks passenger boarding pass and passport at the gate, then scans passenger boarding pass again at the jetbridge? All of 20 metres away!

LHR T4 dropoff charge starts 1st July 2022
It was announced by Heathrow last year that the dropoff zone outside the terminals were going to be subject to a Ł5 charge, and this charge commenced last Oct 21.
However it appears that Heathrow have not quite got themselves sorted to start to fleece the good folk using LHR T4 until the 1st July.
from the Heathrow website:
So if you're traveling with Qatar and get driven to/from the airport using the drop off zone during June 2022 make sure you don't pay the additional Ł5, some taxi drivers might accidentally-on-purpose include it in your fare.

from the Heathrow website:
The Terminal Drop-Off Charge at Terminal 4 commences on 1 July 2022 at 00:00. If you are dropping off at Terminal 4 prior to this date you do not need to pay the charge.

Friday QR 4 left two hours late. First they announced it was a security issue then finally they said it was to load passengers who’d gone to the wrong terminal. Sigh. No one rocked up late into J. Which caused widespread issues on arrival into Doha and multiple missed connections. Signs everywhere. Luckily they held our flight over by an hour as there are only three a week to our city. But stupid move to create chaos for so many for the rescuing of people who couldn’t be bothered reading emails.

I've now purposely booked QR 10 for my return flight next month which departs at 11:55 on Fridays as opposed to the usual QR 4. The delay in this flight looks a lot less than both QR 4 & QR 8.
I really hope flights from CWL start again soon, much more convenient for me!

Does anyone know if it is possible, at Terminal 4, to get from airside departures back into the arrival/connections flow? (I know at T3 this is possible by just walking back the way you came, leaving through a secure door and going back down to flight connections).
I will have a long layover, in a few weeks, departing AA in business class, and am interested in using the QR lounge, which I have accessed before on MH J tickets. But I wouldn't try it if T4 is different from T3, and there is no way back out of security to flight connections.

Exiting is easy. Getting in is the issue.
I was in the position you describe above and was turned away by security (supervisor).
It took a lovely Heathrow Passenger Experience Manager (Pam) to escort me to the lounge.
Be prepared to be turned down at security and argue your way in.
Personally, I think the lounge isn‘t worth a visit any longer. YMMV.

The Deutz, Taittinger and Laurent-Perrier are all gone.
So is the muhallabia.
I don’t think you go to a QR lounge for the food.
The lounge stood out because of its arabesque atmosphere
and extraordinary staff.
They are all gone and replaced by newcomers.
Servers are positive and eager to learn
(How do you make Arabic coffee?).
I just miss the old brigade.
It was another era.

I flew out of T4 on the 9am flight last week. So glad it was not the night before when I witnessed the horrific queues in T4 for security and absence of fast track. First class or economy everyone was in those awful queues on Wednesday night which stretched around the terminal with holding pens located in various places. Passengers were moved from pen to pen before being fed into the security lines, only to be faced with screaming from the Heathrow staff. It’s shameful
At 6:15am it took just 20 minutes but the shouting doesn’t stop! It seems the attitude is that if someone doesn’t speak English and doesn’t understand “ we simply say it louder.” Heathrow should be ashamed!
T4 airside was desolate and soulless with many shops closed. I was grateful I had access to the lounge.
It is a beautiful space but food is average and the staff, while willing, smiling and lovely, are out of their depth. I had to explain what a “Bucks Fizz” was!
The lounge was busy so photographs were limited to areas where no one was!

Fruit Platter

Bucks Fizz

Stunning Orchid display

Continental breakfast platter

Wine

Entrance with more Orchids, they are everywhere

Immaculate toilet and showers.

Little special touches everywhere

Not sure about this area, looked very uncomfortable
The lounge experience was a prelude to a simply outstanding flight in First class where we were the only two customers

I entered as Oneworld Sapphire (Qatar gold) earlier this month. I thought food quality was good, especially the lamb and rice. Some of the individual cold buffet items like salad and Mezze had dried out a bit, perhaps because the lounge had not been busy. Alcohol options were limited spirits wise.
