This thread is purely related to discussing QR Sale Fares.

Is the current 'Sale' actually a Sale?
Are the fares cheaper than previous Sales?
Is this Sale absolutely useless for your travel plans?

Well, here is the place to discuss!

Safe travels,

Does anyone have experience getting good deals out of North America using open-jaw similar to Northern Europe to Asia?

I need to be in Asia for three months starting just after Christmas. I'll take an ex-EU flight from Europe. Is 2,200 about the lowest I can expect between now and late December? I can travel OSL-DOH-BKK on an R fare for that, departing Jan 1st. It seems to be a little cheaper to do SOF-SIN but I find that rather inconvenient. I'm not used to this brave new world of routinely paying more than 2,000 for QR ex-EU itineraries 😅.

I think that's about as low as you'll get at the moment. Even return Y tickets ex-UK and many western europe destinations cost around 1k so for J ticket, paying double of Y fare seems like a 'good' price.

Finding and applying one of the many discount codes that are in circulation currently may save you another 100 or so on an R ticket, but yes that price level looks about right currently.

Thanks very much to you both! I got it down to 2070 by using the mobile app discount code. I'm going to wait a couple of weeks though just in case a oneworld ex-EU sale comes in, not that I'm getting my hopes up.

Some are published on QR's site. I stumbled across GOMOBILE23 on QR's website. Supposedly drops the price by 12%. Tried with and without code and the price remained identical. YMMV.

Some will be on the QR website home page. Some are global (eg. Qverse and the QR mobile app). Some local markets may also have their own promo codes for local departures or users of certain credit cards, which may or may not be seasonal or time limited. They may be promoted at the top or included towards the bottom of the home page for each local site (change your location at the top of the home page to see other countries). Other codes may not be listed there but are still valid. Some will be notified in the newsletter or member emails from QR (these can also be country specific).

Google etc may also be your friend here, although many of the discount code sites list a lot out of date promos. Search for Qatar discount codes (or similar) for your country of departure. In the past sites like Groupon have also sold coupons that give a discount but I'm not sure if that's still a thing.

All will have T&Cs though which you should read carefully. These may place limits on things such as dates of booking or travel, departure or arrival airports, fare bucket booked, method of payment, channel used to book etc. If you don't meet all of these in both directions you may not get the discount, naturally enough. Or any quota on the flight you are looking at might be sold out.

If you haven't already stumbled across one, a little bit of research into what's available for your market can be worthwhile. It's unusual for there not to at least one active code somewhere that will net you 7-10% or more off the pre-tax fare, possibly with some extra avios or qpoints as well. I haven't travelled on QR without using one this year so far.
