I appreciate how they serve lunch on these morning departures, as most passengers would've already had one or two breakfasts.
Thanks, this was a really good tip for my QR12 LHR-DOH last week - after a 3am start, a decent breakfast in the LHR premium lounge, and boarding at 8am, it was great to be able to go straight to lobster thermidor for lunch at 9:30am then to bed for a nap!

Laurent Perrier rose champagne - really enjoyed this to start the flight

Menu

Curried prawns starter. Not as flavoursome as I had expected, but actually it was fine as a prelude to the lobster

Lobster thermidor - this was very good. If I was being picky I'd say the tenderstem broccoli was overcooked, but I couldn't fault the lobster

Berries with rosewater syrup - this was perfect especially after such a rich main course

Iced latte - superb

Mezze selection - I ordered this after awaking from my nap, taking cues from other posters to not order an omelette. Hit the spot as usual with QR

Brunch platter to follow - this was fine, probably would have worked better with fewer items or smaller portions (the brioche and Danish pastry were similar in taste). The tuna tataki and the fresh fruit were for me the best components, the rest was unremarkable

Hi folks!
I am traveling from WAW to DOH in 4 days, any clues about the menu?
Furthermore, I am wondering if it would be ok if I order an appetizer/main course right after take-off and then ask for soup just before landing? Is it what they mean in "dining on demand" idea?

Indeed you can. It may be worthwhile asking the crew beforehand to 'reserve' the soup for you to be served prior to landing.

P.S. Welcome to FT!

Business class is typically divided into various alphabetic fare classes, usually Z, J, D, C, I (but not always, can differ by airline). J is used generically to refer to business class. F for first class. Y for economy. And PY or PE for premium economy. Welcome to our confusing world of acronyms!

Maybe QR could start more new fare classes where you get the J seat but no meals; or J meals but no DoD; or main course but no appetizer; or no drink refills; etc.

If we wanted the experience to be that miserable we'd fly BA or United.

Easy... just reduce to loading ONE starter, and QR will mimic its BA partner: FWP - Smoked salmon starter in F

Well, QR has already introduced no-lounge and no-seat-assignment fare classes so it is going that way..

pre-selecting meals on qr933

hello. is the option to pre-select meals available on all flights? I can't seen to find this option on my upcoming qr933 mnl-doh flight. the only option I found was for special meal requests like asking for a low sodium meal.
