It is almost June 2022 and they are still serving melas on trays, smaller portions, inconsistent service etc due to Covid despite hiking their premium fares significantly. I'm guessing the next excuse is "limiting interaction" due to monkeypox.

Waiting to depart on QR70 FRA-DOH

Have ordered the lobster starter and salmon main. Will post photos later when they arrive.

Will likely pair the fish courses with Chardonnay before moving onto the Bordeaux for afters.

Crew are excellent so far. Even before we’re off the ground I’m a convert!

Thank you! I'm on that flight in a few weeks, and I'm all about the seafood! Hopefully the menu choices won't change much!

Starter was excellent. The main was alright but the fish overcooked and dry with the highlight being the mash/sauce/veg. Cheese plate excellent. The crew are absolutely stellar and I will definitely lodge formal positive feedback as they’ve been a really nice mix of courteous, attentive, professional and familiar. 10/10 for the crew for sure!

The quality of wines has really gone downhill in J over the years.

First flight yesterday from KUL-DOH. Didn't get pictures of the food because it was a 3am flight and cabin lighting was dimmed but here is the menu

Had the Roast Beef Sandwich which was great and then the pancakes which I really enjoyed. Just right in terms of sweetness, very tasty!

My next flight was DOH-LHR. Menu as follows:

Seared Beef with Chermoula Sauce

Seafood Trio - Rice on this was fantastic

Ice Cream

Wanted to keep it light on this meal so skipped the mezze because that along with breads feels like a meal on its own!

DOH-COK 22 May 2022

Amazing service for a short 4-hour red-eye flight leaving at 1:45 AM ... that Saffron Malai Cake was hands down the BEST dessert I have ever eaten on a plane (and the Masala Chai Brulee wasn't bad either).
