Is the voucher + 10% uplift a thing of the past?
I've asked the question a couple of times on the Book with Confidence thread, but nobody, to my knowledge, has responded.
It would be good to get this nailed down. If anyone has managed to get the 10% uplift in the past few months, please report here.
If anyone knows definitively that this policy has been scrapped, ditto.
I think it will be fair to assume that if there are no responses at all, it is highly likely that the 10% uplift is a thing of the past, but that nobody has chapter and verse.

Hi,
Not too recent but i got a voucher, dated on 3rd september 2021. Voucher value is original ticket cost + 10% added value, validity 2 years.
This booking was made originally in july 2020, four pax J (R) HEL-BKK-HEL for trip in november 2020.
Once amended from original dates to late october 2021 then cancelled. Two pax full refund and two voucher.
All the amendments and final cancellation made by phone.
Hope this helps?

Thanks for the info. I was turned down flat for a voucher plus 10% in July, despite making several calls.
Did you have to push to get a voucher + 10% for the 2 pax, or did they accept your request with no push-back?
And can you remember which office you called?
I'm already holding 2 vouchers plus 10%, so I'm beginning to wonder if that's maybe why I was turned down in July

Yes, they accepted the request quite easily. I just had to split the booking first into two different bookings. This because 2 of us wanted a voucher+10% and other 2 a full refund.
I called QR Finland number which may connect anywhere in the world. This time out of curiosity I asked where? To Poland however the person was Italian. Previous calls went to Qatar and India?

Any restrictions on using the voucher going forwards or is it effectively 'as good as cash' ?
Specifically if I have a voucher for a flight originating from one country can I use it from a different country ( with a different currency) ? .. I guess the answer is yet ( and conversion is at IATA rates ), but would like to know

I just called to cancel two flights, one I wanted a refund and the other I wanted a voucher. The rep told me that in order to get the voucher I had to try to cancel the trip online. You just select cancel and select voucher and it will be processed in a few days.

Thanks - seems like a decent option then if there's no restrictions on what flights/routes/destinations/departures ( other than it has to be spent with Qatar )

Just be aware that if you don't spend all the voucher credit you see a new voucher number with the remaining credit on the payment page but you don't get a email with this information.
Write down the new voucher number for future use.

Well, one of the sets of flights I'm holding definitely needs to be cancelled, so I've just gone down the online route, and am pleased to say it was very straightforward (apart from when the screen hung!).
The voucher option was present, and, when I took that option, the correct amount (including the 10% supplement) was displayed.
All seemingly done and confirmed, so now waiting for the confirmation email with the voucher.

Despite having appeared to have successfully applied for a voucher +10% on January 3rd, today I received a refund in my credit card account (without the 10%) for the flights in question.
It definitely seems that Qatar don't like people holding too many vouchers - that would have been my third!
