QR Resumption of Flights

I think it's time to start tracking QR flight operations.
The other ME carrier threads have insightful discussions on the resumption of flights.

Let's see if this thread stays open

QR flights AKL-DOH are due to restart on 2nd June and looking at EF the loadings in business (at least for 2nd, 3rd and 4th June, didn't look further than that) look quite good out of AKL but not so good for DOH-AKL on those dates.

Just to mention that QR has not stopped operating.
They are still operating several routes at the moment, and they would start to resume some other routes in May and June.

I don't see Accra anywhere. QR had been planning to start operating passenger flights here in April I believe. It was an addon to a flight to Lagos. Have they dropped it completely? I mean, it wouldn't surprise me.

Interesting to see that the flights will be almost exclusively operated by A350s and 787s - the newest and most fuel-efficient aircraft. The 777s barely get a look-in ... plus the odd A320. No A330s at all.

Given the price of oil at the moment, they'll almost be operating on thin air!

And the follow on question is when can we expect the Country to allow non-residents to enter.
I assume not until after Ramadan.

I see that the DOH-LHR flights that are currently A350s will change to B777s in June (QR003, QR009, QR011 at least). Shame as I would like to try out the new A350s but my trip early June is now change of equipment to B777.

AU/NZ have their borders shut, so unless pax is permanent resident or holds a passport, no go. But there are still a ton of people who are (temporarily) in AU/NZ (including myself) and will be travelling out.

Will you be going out in June too? We are currently booked on QR921 on 4th June and QR011 on 5th June and I see from the new updated timetables that there are several flights on 5th June from DOH-LHR (QR003, QR007, QR009, QR011) do you think that they might combine some of these flights due to the light loads?

DOH-LHR is also a cargo heavy route, depending on both the demand for cargo and passengers, they could keep all 4 services; however, depending on the COVID-19 pandemic, they could also decrease the number of flights and combine them.

The actual answer to your question should be available by late-May.

Most likely July, depending on the situation in my home country.

It states Muscat will resume by May 14th but the lockdown there shows no sign of ending so will be a bit surprised if that happens and Oman Air is not showing any availabilty until June 1st so weird if QR is allowed to fly but not Oman Air! I hope they do open as im locked out!!

From the Peninsula Qatar

I would like to assume that AAB is in the know that the Country will be open at the end of May.
