Guidelines For Refund To Original Form Of Payment
  • Updated the refund conditions

Disclaimers:
  • The version of the policy at the time of change applies.*
  • This document was made for viewing by travel agents, not passengers.
  • You must call in to make the changes to your ticket since fees are waived manually. Refund requests can be sent using the cancellation form.
  • This policy is in addition to the fare rules of your ticket.
  • Conditions of Carriage still apply.
  • Changes have to be made at least 3 hours before departure time, otherwise you will be counted as no-show.
  • It is expected that there will be more changes to the policy in the future and Qatar Airways can amend the policy without prior notice.
*You are welcome to pursue legal action with QR and prove this wrong. We are merely warning you what will happen when you call in and perform a change.

Why on earth would anyone get a voucher? So you gave QR a loan and the 10% bonus really is just interest and QR still has your money.

I donít get why anyone would do a voucher?

Hello, I hope someone can help. I have read through much of the thread but am still a little unclear.

I have a redemption booking which I booked with a long overnight connection, planning to use the airside hotel at DOH. The second sector has been cancelled and shows as Unconfirmed, but the airline has rebooked me onto a much earlier 50 minute connection as an alternative, and this shows as Confirmed. I have not yet accepted the changes in Manage My Booking.

Does this schedule change count as an involuntary change so that I can move to a date when there is no award availability but space available? Or are my only options to travel on the revised schedule, move to a date where there is award availability, or cancel?

As long as you didn't press 'acknowledge changes', you are entitled to 1 free change or a free refund. You should still require award availability.

It sounds as though if it still requires award availability then it's probably no different to a regular award ticket change even under normal times.

If they let me do anything different I shall report back

No. Iíve not received a single refund request confirmation email. Although Iíve now received a response from their customer care team after raising a complaint. Will see if that expedites things a little!

I have canceled QR tickets several times this year due to various reasons, and not once did I get a confirmation refund email. Having said that, my last refund I think took about a week before it showed on my CC account.

Why do you continue to book and cancel? Is there some route that has insanely good fares? Feel free to PM.

I wish! One time it was due to travel restrictions and at several times, it was cheaper to cancel than change dates because the new dates were cheaper. If the new dates are cheaper than original fare, changing it would just forfeit any difference in fare.

Qatar have changed the time of my outgoing fare from London. It now means that my connection time in Doha is 45 mins. Whilst I know that that is allowable I would prefer to take the earlier flight from London. Can I change to the earlier flight (they are still selling seats and the price is cheaper) through MMB or do I have to ring in please?

45 minutes isn't enough to count as a major schedule change (2hrs is the minimum), but you can try asking an agent kindly if they can (out of goodwill) put you on an earlier flight.

I have just been on to MMB and made the change online. There was no fare difference. I will be a lot less stressed about missing my connection.
