looked up the photon the 777 2-2-2 didn't seem much of a difference to me comparing on a 333 one lol...i had been on the 333. it was just a 5 hr flight so I did enjoy it especially I didn't have a neighbour sitting next to me

See, then you don't have to worry about getting 2-2-2 seating. It's not so bad it is not good for anything at all! ;)

There is a whale of a difference. Remember that a 777 is much larger than a 330. The old 2x2x2 c777 onfig uses the same space per seat as the Qsuite .Very spacy as opposed to a 330 window seat which is like a tiny coffin.

Will it be too optimistic praying for a 787-9 with QSuite 2.0, instead of a normal 787-8, to be deployed to HKG during this difficult time? Sounds a bit crazy LOL :D

Looking now at expert flyer and I can see that most of the QR815/816 have been cancelled until the end of March. The remaining flights QR817/818 are operated by a 350-900 (non Q-suite seems like) instead of a the 777-300.
I am supposed to fly on QR818 at the end of April and I am desperately waiting for a new travel waiver to be issued on the HKG flights to go somewhere else in Asia...

Same with me. I don't mind flying to HKG but I now need to be in Malaysia.

Did your flight change to non QSuite already?

I did not dare to ask Amex travel yet. My double open jaw itinerary, booked via Amex travel starting on April 30th (together with my parents and GF is WAW-DOH-HKG(3 day stopover)-TPE. QR816 for the DOH-HKG leg. The return is 2 weeks later HND-DOH-GOT. Given that right now Taiwan does not allow entry for any foreigner who has been in Hong Kong or Macau, our plans are a bit in trouble. Situation. Might evolve until end of April but still, I would rather fly directly to Japan instead of HKG. The QR website shows that for HKG flights, they will allow free changes only for departures up to March 31st. However Cathay, the airline operating the HKG-TPE allows changes free of charge for departures up to May 31st... But trying to change my trip on the CX website results in an error as everything is booked on QR stock...

Ah, we are almost on the same flight!

As QR818 has switched to a non QSuite A350 that should trigger a free change or they even say a refund below.

Are the flight number be mixed up? I can search QR815 but not QR817 in EF for March departure.

I guess they are retaining the early AM departure from Hong Kong as it makes rebooking easier.

Because the 8am-ish departure has been cancelled...

Well... My flight on April 30th has not changed (yet?)... Honestly, I don't really where they could fly me in a 500 mile radius from HKG in a Q-suite. But I would gladly accept a change of final destination to HND or NRT instead of TPE 😃
