This offer has appeared in the last few days on various platforms.

Whilst this looks like a good offer to these who can use it - I observe that mostly the cheaper destinations to book a premium flight has been excluded in the terms and conditions. Fair enough.

Appreciate what others interpretation of

"Book a flight in Business or First Class departing Doha for travel during the promotional period". is?

Does it mean flight has to originate from Doha or would Hong Kong - Doha - New York also qualify? the DOH- NYC leg?

What is the offer??? Scamsite? If it exist and its Qatari english wording deparure from Doha then my best guess is its targeted and needs to be registred on your memberpage (as all offers nowdays)...

Still its a good deal if you reside in Doha.

Example:
To obtain Platinum you must accumulate 600 QPoints - which could be costly. If you are Gold now - you can do one flight to MNL for example cost QR5975 and upgrade you to Platinum, which is much cheaper than trying to accumulate 600 QPoints

To make you feel better - Qatar Airways tickets are exorbitantly expensive to those who reside in Doha. Typically it costs 1,5 to 2x to fly DOH - XXX than XXX to DOH :mad:

Thats indeed not so good pricing ;-) There was a deal not so many weeks ago offering extension of status. I could not figure out by the terms if it was for a roundtrip or oneway so i did not do the booking. But a oneway in J from Phnom Penh (PNH)-Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) was in the area of 320 US Dollars and the return was a few buck more. Anyway it was a very cheap price for 60 more Q-Cedits if you were in the SE Asia area.

Its pretty much over now as you needed to have registered by Oct 15th.

And yes, Silver Falcon is so right, tickets from DOH are quite expensive. Turkish is sometimes a decent option into Europe if you dont mind a short layover in IST (and a look at the new airport).
