Dose anyone of you know about it?

Apparently they are going to have a sale “like never before” on January 17. Just saw somebody post a screenshot from the app in a Facebook group advertising it:

Edit: Looks like it’s also on Twitter!

They want us to sign up here:

(I couldn’t verify this since I’m on a plane with limited connectivity.)

Hmm. Not totally convinced this will be a sale...

I hope I'm wrong and it is indeed the massive sale we've all been waiting for :) but last time they did something like this it was to launch the "Going Places Together" tagline.

(edit: There was also a countdown given for the QRPC decimation - sorry, "enhancements" - of 2018...)

Just seen this in the Sales Pricing thread: doesn't actually say anything about a sale though, an announcement of something "new and exciting".

I don't actually know if those are Chinese, Japanese or something else - my first thought was a route to KIX, but seems a bit much for a new route...?

Q-Suite for the 787/A380? But then why the neon reference, and is that likely to be radical enough to qualify as "new and exciting"?

Hmm.. I would think this is most probably something related to their recent stake in China Southern? Most probably some extensive code share and connectivity within China (since the short clip in Twitter seems to indicate that).

Cheers!

Yes, just seen that thread - could well be.

... and "like never before" doesn't necessarily mean it will be any good. In fact the history of recent QR marketing suggests it won't be.

Just as "up to10% off" translates as "don't even bother looking"

I just got a mail offering
incredible fares
which turn out to be pretty much-run-of the mill economy prices with some sky-high business ones.

Those are traditional Chinese which is being used in Taiwan and Hong Kong. Neon street lighting is also particularly well-known in both places especially HK. Would it be a launch of Taipei? Its not too #likeneverbefore tho.

No, quite - a new route [even a biggish one like TPE] just wouldn't seem to justify the tagline.

An extensive codeshare feeder network in China with CZ might - QR doesn't really have much in the way of codeshare reach, do they? I remember they reached out to NZ when launching AKL, but that fell through. There was an AA agreement, I think? Similarly now defunct over the ongoing tete-a-tete? [Feel free to correct me anyone]. They've just gone with serving everywhere in Europe themselves. The only ones I can think of right now is BKK-USM with PG [and that's only likely to be due to PG's lock on USM airport] and PER-BNE with QF [though that's not a codeshare IIRC and is due to a limit on the markets they can serve?].

Nothing quite like being able to reach anywhere in the US by tacking an AA flight onto a BA TATL - though admittedly that's a full JV agreement.

ETA: What about First service to HK...?

14 days of speculation.

This should be entertaining :D !

What about Macau? Never before (!?) has there been non-stop service outside Asia?

Would fit in with the traditional character Chinese signs too.

I'm going for the China angle here.

My money is on customer service in Doha being enhanced and will be run by a group staffed by the communist party's finest. You heard it here first!
