Those booked into J and downgraded are clearly owed something. But surely even the sunniest amongst us couldn't believe a snatched away upgrade entitles the unfortunate passenger to anything other than a measure of sympathy.

Yes indeed, the very notion of receiving compensation for an op-upgrade, that is subsequently rescinded is, frankly, quite bizarre.
