Out of curiosity, was it the saver ticket you mentioned in an other thread ?
I am in the situation of having an inbound t Eco Saver ticket that is no longer upgradable online and wondering if it was upgradable at the airport.
Thanks.

The perqs to which we are entitled should be given freely by QR; and we should complain when they are not.
Dr hfn if you read my post in detail I did actually mention that I knew it was not an entitlement but just noted it used to be previously given my QR15 to LHR today is 2 thirds full and would have been a nice jesture

incidentally I was able to upgrade 831 and 15 both had loads of seats available the latter being Q suites

I spoke to the girls in the bar ( c.c they seemed shocked when I mentioned the new enhancements
It seems a lot of QR staff are unhappy with the new lounge policy

I genuinely try to post useful information for fellow travellers and I do a similar run to dr hfh up to North East Thailand and sorry if I overreacted

I'm currently in the first class lounge thankfully very quiet

no I always book V class because I quite often change my return date I came out on a saver but eventually found a Q class because fed up with the hassle arguing with QRPC

Ithink you could argue this because I can't see any thing in writing about saver fares in O or T bucket prohibited

incidentally looks like calling via social media is blocked hia Wi-Fi WhatsApp line Facebook messenger etc

well i think someone can not complain too much about QR upgrade policy for the moment, if you were able to upgrade BKK-LHR from economy ticket to business with miles at the airport in the newest product on the flight market (A350-1000).

you dont think so?

I personally do think, that this is a reason to complain, if upgrades (almost) only are available at the airport. I don´t want to feel as being in a casino waiting for the "lucky draw"...
I mainly have to take the LATAM lease aircrafts for the half leg of my travels and do not get any discout (in miles or cash) for that, so why it is so special to get an upgrade to LHR?

sure i would also prefere to upgrade before and not to wait until check in at airport.

but come on, he was able at the end to upgrade with miles the newest aircraft in QSuite.
you shoud appreciate that too.

If i were in his situation, arriving at bkk with economy ticket in the morning and then learn i can upgrade complete flight to lhr i would be smiling from check-in in bkk until landing in lhr, despite A351 is only doha-lhr leg and would enjoy the complete flight and not spending 1 sec about thoughts why they not allow me this upgrade some weeks before flight because in the end i got it.

I would appreciate it, if I would get this chance.. hahaha
But yes, right, a great experience for him, I guess. It is very surprising, that he got it managed to upgrade in BKK the whole travel to LHR. Normally they only process from BKK to DOH and in DOH you have to "beg" again.

this is how i understand his report that he upgraded at BKK airport till LHR. Maybe spec119 can clarify thid
But you are right, usually you have to "beg" in doha again for upgrade the LHR leg.

well, maybe i will be lucky tomorrow too similar spec119 with his A351 upgrade and biz is overbooked in QR831 and QR will give me again a double upgrade to first same like the inbound flight which was a very big surprise. I dont expect it really but hope dies last.

I just saw that they still have not changed the rules in the upgrade section of QRPC, the following is stated there:

Important Information:
Award upgrades to First Class are not available on our A380 services to or from London. Cabin upgrade not available for Infants (below 2 years). Bookings made in Economy Promo fare family (RBDs - O, T, W and G) are not eligible for redemption upgrades.

Source: https://qmiles.qatarairways.com/ffpo...dAwardMain.jsf
Therefore I see no legible reason at all that they are blocking us the upgrade possibility.

The only reason I see is more a technical one. Their system does only see the booking code and not the fare family. Therefore those tickets can not be upgraded online. Even for QRPC staff you always have to say twice, this is not an Eco Promo ticket but a Save one...

I think my complaint is valid all the time wondering if I can upgrade icidently both flights had 9 plus j seats available and the cost to be was anxiety and 5000 more qmiles ohh did o mention the seat broke on the 351 took them ages to deal with it all that was required was move me to one of the many empty seats

like other members have stated they don't like the lottery scenario so yes I'm sitting in a nice lieflat on the 831 wondering all the time about the 15....

and then the pathetic lounge situation how did the first class lounge at doh ever get that name hardly any food

I had a very warm welcome at the cx lounge at BKK

goodbye Qatar airways

sorry to bear bad news but QRPC confirmed in an email saver fares in the O T and W bucket are ineligible they used the word saver specifically
