A350-1000 Thread
The A350-1000's have been delayed, according to AAB, but only for a month or so.
“The installation of the Qsuite is taking longer than what we expected,” Al Baker said in Doha, adding that the complex design of the berth has implications for the certification of the aircraft. The first plane now belongs to the airline but remains at Airbus’s base in Toulouse, France, for fitting out.

Nope, A7-ANA is in testing stage @ TLS
But F-WLXV Airbus Demo is @ DOH
The latest Airbus A350 family member, the A350-1000, has flown for a three-week tour of the Middle East and Asia-Pacific, the aircraft manufacturer said this morning.
This demonstration trip will precede the delivery of the first aircraft to Qatar Airways, which will take place "in the coming weeks". The MSN065 registered aircraft will stop at Doha, Muscat, Hong Kong, Seoul, Taipei, Hanoi, Singapore, Bangkok, Sydney, Auckland, Tokyo and Manila, totaling 55,000 km. It will be exhibited from February 6 to 8 in static at the Singapore Air Show. Three A350-1000s of test were used by Airbus. The MSN065 is equipped with a full cabin including 40 business, 36 premium economy and 219 economy.

Given that this thread has been inactive for the past 20 days - surprising given the amount of press coverage of the arrival at DOH of QR’s first A350-1000 this past Tuesday (coincidentally Mrs PtF and I were in DOH on delivery day) - I thought this thread might usefully be bumped.

I'm very curious what routes they are planning to use the -1000s on, besides LHR. AAB said to the East Coast of the US, which is quite a few cities: BOS, JFK, PHL, IAD, ATL, MIA. I imagine of those, they'd want to place them on routes where they can keep capacity or increase it a little like JFK (replace the A359) and/or operate a more efficient plane (replace the 77W) while keeping capacity largely steady.
I imagine there are 77W routes like ATL that would be better served with the A359 if it gets freed from JFK, but what do I know. I don't imagine BOS or PHL really need a capacity increase on the route.
