I imagine of those, they'd want to place them on routes where they can keep capacity or increase it a little like JFK (replace the A359) and/or operate a more efficient plane (replace the 77W) while keeping capacity largely steady.

I imagine there are 77W routes like ATL that would be better served with the A359 if it gets freed from JFK, but what do I know. I don't imagine BOS or PHL really need a capacity increase on the route.
I would would have to say JFK, since the A351 is the most premium heavy configuration jet after the A380--and that they might want to make JFK an exclusive all Q Suites destination.

I think we'll see the A35K replacing the A359 on the SIN route and then redeploy the spare A359's to the east coast.

JFK could be a great 380 destination, besides I have my selfish reason of wanting to try out QR F on a non-regional hop.

Interesting to hear what the economy seats are like on the A35K. They don't look that appealing.

Any word on whether QR702 (JFK - DOH) will likely have either A359 or A350-1000 by July? I have booked this flight in early July, and am curious about the equipment (currently listed as 77W).

Nobody can say for certain, and I wouldn't worry about it until June.

If it's listed as 77W, then prepare for that to be the equipment.

They are the Recaro CL3710. Essentially a 1-inch wider version of the 777 seats. They might not look as appealing as the CL3620 currently used on the A380/A359, but they feel the same seated, with a bigger visual clearance of the legroom as well since the seat back is re-sculpted.

I do miss the A380/A359/788 style head rest though, negates the need of a neck pillow.

well a bit more leg room is always welcome. But yes the head rest doesn’t look as supportive.

So their first A35K is going on the LHR-DOH route?

Yep, QR15/16 rotation is now mapped in until Easter week. Guess a longer view will be taken after a full weeks operation, come this Saturday/Sunday.

Ive got to book a DOH-LHR leg for mid April asap, and want it to be a QSuite bird. As the 35K hasn't officially been put on the QR15 beyond Easter week, do you reckon its a safe bet to assume it will continue, or do you think I'd best book on QR7 77W.

It probably depends on whether QR expects additional A35K in the coming weeks. If they do, then they may be able to start new QSuites routes with the A35K and the A35K will be withdrawn from the DOH-LHR route.

Rule 1 of booking with QR - Do not book a route or time just to try a specific aircraft. You will only be disappointed.
