What sort of meals can I expect when flying Long-Haul Business?
The Business Class meals served are of a far higher quality than those served by most other airlines.
This thread contains photos of actual Menus and/or Wine Lists as well as photos of the food. Discussion about Business Class food is to be found at business class food discussion

What is the menu for my flight?
Look at the index below and see if there is a recent menu for your flight.

There is no menu for my flight. What do I do?
If you are unable to find a menu relevant to your flight, find a QR flight which departs at a similar time to yours, and of a similar length.

Can I rely upon these menus being available when I fly?
No for a number of reasons
1 QR change their menus frequently, so you may be in luck and find the specific options for your flight.
2 Where there is more than one flight a day to a destination the menu varies according to the time of day. Who wants breakfast on an evening flight?
3 Menus may vary from destination to destination due to flight time, number of meals served, local culture etc.

The 2018 thread contains the newest menu for each flight from previous years for continuity.
The 2017 menus can all be seen here
The 2016 menus can all be seen here.
Menus from earlier are mostly using another meals service system and cannot be used to understand the current menus.

Illustrated Menu index.
The index below contains per Destination, Flight numbers and Route, Type of Document (Menu or Wines), Year and month it was served and the post number or link to the post in this thread.

Pommery was served on the DOH-BOM flight on May 7th as well; the JFK-DOH flight on 6th had Lanson. The Chateau Lynch-Moussas Grand Cru 2012 served on both flights was very agreeable as was the Alvear Pedro Ximenez Solera dessert wine

Strangely, I had a UK-DOH menu from EDI, but a DOH-EUR menu to EDI. More strangely, these (breakfast) menus seemed to contain exactly the same options.

No, I too was disappointed by that. Though the chosen options - Smoked Salmon, and Sea Bream - were excellent nonetheless!

Which is ironic, because I've had the amuse bouche maybe 10 times (has been around since at least early last year when it started appearing on flights out of TYO), the same soup multiple times, the Arabic Mezze multiple times and all of the main courses before!

Ahhhh, but the soup is now a proper serving in a full sized soup bowl (as opposed to the mini bowl of days gone by). There's also hot pudding and afternoon tea, which are both new...

The food options appear to be completely the same to me, and I agree with @lost_in_translation, in the sense that I've had the amuse bouche many times before.

I did not try the light snack options, but they looked pretty good when I saw it being served to other passengers.

I think the new plates and plating is so much better than the square crockery, and definitely feels a lot more like a decent First Class service (e.g. Malaysia Airlines First) rather Business Class. What's very nice in particular is the bread basket presentation, and the new soup bowl. I did not choose to have the soup, but the person next to me did, and the presentation did look very nice, in the sense that it includes a lid which is opened when served.

Well done QR.

Hel-Doh-Bkk

Hey!

I am having the evening QR302 to Doha from Helsinki and then the early (hopefully A380) QR832 to Bangkok. Was wondering about a couple of things:
1) what would be the typical menu on QR302 and have they launched new dining concept for HEL route as well?
2) saw the 3 options for mains for DOH-BKK - last time I flew the route they were offering 4 choices - has something changed again.
3) What champagne is offered these days (compulsory question)

Nice. This is one of the reasons I continue to fly QR, even after the recent QRPC devaluation. (But I now credit to AA.) This would be an F meal on most other carriers.

So true, throw in a great product and fantastic crew and you got one hell of a product.

I flew Qatar Biz from Singapore to London in December last year, my first flight with Qatar.

I agree with the comments on the food, and I especially appreciated the ability to tell the staff when you want to eat, which is a huge advantage in resetting your body clock during long-haul flights. Service was excellent and I would have no hesitation flying with them again.

But am I the only one who was less than impressed with the dearth of wine choices? From what I recall, I had a choice of Lanson Black Label NV and Rose, a Chablis and a New World white (can't remember which, unfortunately), a 2012 Bordeaux, a Tokaji and a Port. I recall flying Qantas Biz a few years back, and being offered quite a few more selections than that. The current Qantas website, however, seems to indicate that it is basically down to two choices per wine category much like Qatar, so maybe that's the way all Biz is heading...
