I personally wouldn't put too much stock on what's shown on MMB as the staff at al-Safwa informed that it is a general information and not individual booking specific (although she could have been wrong)

Transiting myself this evening on an award ticket (purchased with miles), in business class, and got into the Al Mourjan lounge no problem, no questions asked. Ticket was booked in Oct 2017.

I have an upcoming economy ticket upgraded with miles to business in January, I will update that situation as well.

UAworldwide unless the access rules have changed yet again you will have no problems with accessing Al Mourjan.

Let´s see the outcome.
FOLLOW UP
Access to Al Safwa without any problem (we did use the Al Maha transit service). At the beginning there were around 10 guests (maybe more in the relaxing rooms), decreasing then to just me and my wife......

Traveller999 what you are describing here is "buy lounge access" not lounge access so Al Safwa will not be shown since you cannot buy access to Al Safwa as you confirm in post 94 of this thread. It would be very helpful if the best possible lounge access was stated on each ticket now that lounge access can be purchased.

It appears that the first leg of the trip determines what is shown under the buy lounge access link in Manage my booking .

I have two upcoming Award flights one is JtoF but the lounge access only shows Business Lounge ,First Lounge and Al Mourjan all have a tick saying free access included .
The other is FtoF (was reserved after the changes) and lounge access shows Business Lounge ,First Lounge , Al Mourjan and Al Safwa with free access included .
I dont expect there to be any issues with accessing Al Safwa on the first trip either though it is incorrectly not shown . I've never had problems with JtoF access to Al Safwa in the past .
Its just typical flawed QR IT .........

crombiestone absolutely correct! Thank you for reminding me that due to looking at the first leg only one member actually purchased lounge access when his onward flight was in J (Al Mourjan acess).!
Why QR use the arriving flight to calculate lounge access for departure lounges is beyond me! After all, with some exceptions, access to departure lounges is governed by the departure cabin class not the arrival cabin class.

As a number of postings in this thread are indicating the only changes to rewards seem to be Airport rewards for Qmiles/Qcredits only. Posts 94 and 95 of this thread are examples. See post 188 of https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/qata...thread-13.html and post 8 of this thread for more details. However there is still some doubt as to Cash rewards at the airport.
I think we can ascribe the two (or was it three?) refusals of access for qualified passengers by the gate dragons to them not being properly informed of the changes.

aussielori reward upgrades from J to F may only be made by members of Privilege Club but reward flights may be obtained by members of any Oneworld FFP. If you have the Qpoints and there is space available then anyone can obtain upgrades from J to F.
There are two First class lounges at DOH. Al Safwa is the premium First class lounge and the First class lounge is for top level members of the Oneworld alliance
Is DOH a transit point or the final destination of your journey? If it is your final OW destination then you will have no access to either lounge.
If your transit is more than 8 hours then you will have no access to Al Safwa.but you may have access to Al Mourjan premium Business lounge.
Access to Al Safwa lounge is dependent upon how you obtained your upgrade. Upgrades with Qmiles at the airport do not give access to Al Safwa. Neither do most E-mail offers. If your transit time is over eight hours then there is no access.
In this post Qcredits, Business anf First class lounges are ignored since they require status.

Just literally got kicked out from AS Lounge after being admitted and already in the quiet room, changed and ready for sleep.
Arriving FirstClass from BKK , booked/ paid business, upgraded with Qmiles 3 weeks ago, (specifically transferred for THAT reason).
I even had the screenshot from MMB wich said access to Al Safwa included, showed, that spoke to supervisor….. NOTHING they could/would do.
Can dance around naked, pound sand, whatever…... Rules are Rules are Rules.
Al Safwa was absolutely empty! I saw ONE other passenger.
Spend 70T Miles for me and my colleague to show him QR service and AS Lounge ……
Since January they told me, only PAID first class passengers are admitted. No matter when you upgraded with Qmiles.
Am now in a “reclining chair" at AM and fuming.
Good first experience for my colleague as this was his first AND LAST flight with QR.

nilsfr69 something is wrong here!
You were admitted to the lounge by the gate dragon at the foot of the escalator based upon a scan of your boarding pass.
Your booking states Al Safwa access which can be regarded as part of your contract with QR.
Then after some time a staff member decides that according to his version of the access rules you were not allowed in, despite the access checks, and you were thrown out.
In other words he thought he 'knew better' than everyone else! And that at your expense.
Maybe he has read the title of this thread and not realised that this thread is really about Airport upgrades with Qmile/Qcredits only!
Whatever the reason he was very much in the wrong and you should register a complaint about his actions immediately. Both at the Al Safwa reception desk and in writing.

I used the elevator, the reception desk staff let me in WITHOUT any problems. I was undressed and ready to sleep. The bell rang....
The same front desk guy was there, almost in tears because "he made a mistake".
I was PISSED, I spoke to the supervisor, I showed the screenshot of the MMB page (it won't show any Lounge access now/live, once you startet the flight).
They phoned, they talked, I talked very "strongly", but..... "THIS IS OUR POLICY, please go to AM, we reserved a nice reclining chair for you there...."
Was escorted to AM.....
I come from the HotelBusiness. IN ANY case when mistakes happen, YOU NEVER kick the customer out, you let him now politely at checkout that an error happened and he will not have access next time. THATS how 5star service businesses handle these things.

(oh yes, after 2h sleep in the reclining chair, they would be happy to wake me up and give me a "sleeping" cubicle behind the Bistro area..... SURE!)
