I've just checked again but this time just for one person and the price has come down slightly to £1204. I haven't checked what period this price is for but for September this price is still valid.
Update: I checked the dates for 19th March to 31st March and I'm seeing prices of £1236. My suggestion would be to look at prices using Momondo and not Google flights.

I’ve seen numerous tempting fares to MLE from various EU outposts. But I’m holding off in hope of a decent sale/companion fare from the UK.
Places like MXP return results with change from £3000 plus positioning where as London (my base) is over £5600. I’d be willing to pay £4000 from London. Is this realistic or should I grab the MXP fare whilst it is there?
These prices are for 2 in J

kingcole974 seems I’ve been around these parts as long as you! Never seen exUK deals other than an error EDI-PEN and MAN-AKL.

Not sure if it helps, but you could also look for flights to CMB. From there to MLE it's just a short hop for a handful of Avios.
