6614 passengers flew in January with a load factor of 65%.
By comparison, Birmingham had 188 per flight and a LF of 74%. Not a great difference, though BHX did run daily and CWL only five times a week.
We'll have to see how the route pans out. Luckily for CWL, the load factors haven't been that bad with both summer and the Christmas/ New Year period having quite reasonable loads. This means it's likely to stay as a route until at least the World Cup in 2022.
The route also seems like one ideal for the A321LR which Qatar has coming next year.

I think what stands out is they seem to be getting an ok / respectable load factor without seeming to be price dumping. I’ve not noticed any stunning deals on either economy or biz class travel (rather annoyingly!), as I’m sat here primed ready to snap the up.
I think this is a route that will continue to see slow and steady improvement.

I think initially , the problem they had was due to uncertainty re the exact dates for departure. That is now solved . IMO people, certainly the target market for CWL, like to book their holidays in advance. As the route is now more established people are able to book their annual holiday. I was on the inaugural flight which was packed on the way out, but my return flight had 30 pax max. Subsequent flights were much busier.
As others have said, there hasn't been any real sale deals from CWL to entice customers. I would also say that , if I was flying paid business class, I would use LHR , with it's superb lounge as opposed to the relatively simple offerings at CWL.
My next flight with QR from CWL is in 3 weeks so we shall see.

Numbers out for February.
5435 used the route in total and it operated on 20 days out of the 28 in the month. That works out at 136 per flight or an load factor of of 54%.
I'd still argue the route is a prime one for the A321LR in the winter season.

Surely this route will get canned in the not too distant - there just aren't enough pax using it! (unless cargo/other factors are keeping it afloat?)

It'll probably limp along until they find a better route on which to employ the aircraft. You'd hope it's at least covering its direct operating costs ... but who knows?
Which given the size of the fleet, and the barrel-scraping they've been doing in designating routes, might take some time
