Paid entry is now available to QR@ DOH lounges (including Al Mourjan)
123USD for Al-Mourjan
82USD for the Emerald lounge 68USD for the Sapphire lounge Credit: https://www.ausbt.com.au/qatar-airwa...usiness-lounge |
Very interesting. I already think that Al Mourjan is packed enough for customers' satisfaction- though I agree is a bit of a waste from a business prospective.
Not the best news for me, but considering the high price, I dont think many people would actually pay so should be ok. |
Pretty steep prices. I am happy people can't purchase their way into the Platinum lounge. As I wrote yesterday, they seem to have a nice lounge during low occupancy times. Then again, by putting a price on the lounge access could open up to pimping Lounge Access by status members. Hmmm :/

Isn't Al Mourjan completely swamped at around midnight and 7-8, the two 'banks'? And they still let more people in...
I think I'd be tempted if there was a pay in option for Al Safwa tho :D Even at like 200-300 USD, I could see myself doing that for a long enough layover... :) |

Ì hope not too many people go for the Al Mourjan offer for overnight it has always been very busy at night when ive passed through and ive yet to get a place in the quiet room without waiting. An individual traveller might decide 450 QAR in Al Mourjan is a better deal than 1000 QAR in the airport hotel.

EK have been offering the same at DXB for the past 2 months - no surprise that QR are doing likewise to raise revenues.

Hmm... Is this the beginning of the end for the QR 'premium facilities are only for premium passengers' philosophy?
I really hope not. |

Well QR have to pay for the Q-suites so why not?!:D
At peak times the lounges are already overcrowded and this will only add to the congestion! What a degradation of the QR lounge experience!! But is this a sign that the North node lounges are about to open at long last? |

Dr. HFH if you read https://www.ausbt.com.au/qatar-airwa...usiness-lounge you will see that non QR passengers are excluded.

Hopefully paid access will not be allowed to have showers during peak periods
