Thought it would be worthwhile setting up a Wiki for this so all the information needed is in a single place:

The offer is being able to book 1 night in a 4 Star hotel in Doha for 23 USD or 5 Star hotel for 28 USD

Hgvn welcome to Flyertalk and to the QR forum. Do look at the QR dashboard. It can be very useful.
The +Qatar rules state that the hotel is for maximum two adults and one child per room.. But with the relaxed fashion in which the rules are interpreted two toddlers should be equal one child.
It would appear that the alternative flight is not a direct flight but via another stop. Since STPC looks at direct, nonstop flights only, when available, you may still qualify for STPC. It is worth asking .

Multiple passengers; infants

Consider a party of two passengers that is content to share a room, and wants to stay for two nights. Two passengers == two eticket numbers. So use each passenger's eticket number for one night, and get two nights for free?

Kids (lap infants and child fares) have eticket numbers and are not excluded by the T&C's https://discoverqatar.qatarairways.c...s/PLUSQATARTNC . One adult plus one lap infant or child == two eticket numbers == two nights for free?

What a remarkable promotion!

Outside of a US, a single room is not a double room and the hotel might raise eyebrows. Depending on the relationship between the two passengers, given the laws that formally exist in much of the Middle East (not sure about Qatar) about non-married people sharing a room, it could also prove a very silly game to play.

I booked 1 night, with a 10 hour stopover, and just received an email to say they had cancelled it as my stopover wasn't long enough. So be careful about length of stopover before booking.

Just returned from QR trip with the free stopover in doh on way back. Was really well organised met at immigration with al maha service and formalities all taken care of. Escorted to taxi rank and jumped a taxi to Fraser suites - my chosen hotel. Arrived checked in all sorted and was told I could keep my room until I left for airport 26 hours later. Hotel really nice - seemed very empty, was given discount voucher of 20% on food from their outlets. Pool nice on top floor with stunning views over the city at night. Did some short visits to the meusem and souks very pleasant indeed and very clean. I had to laugh as along the prom where the boats are moored up there were green charging stations within in the neat gardens to charge your mobile devices - not sure this is avalble in the UK? . When I checked out hotel Offered to run me back to airport free of charge and was dropped curb side at premium check in where I and my bags were taken care of and checked In , what a premium experience and was through immigration and security in 10 mins from arriving. Great service and really broke the journey up.

https://www.qatarairways.com/en-dk/o...l-further.html states "Please note that for transit flights in Doha of less than 24 hours in duration, baggage cannot be claimed and will be tagged to your final destination." which may suggest a clearer, more logical, baggage handling with stopovers in DOH.
But the statement is part of the conditions of a 'Special offer' and may be a one off.

I booked the QR CMB-PHL deal yesterday (in J if that matters) with very short (approx 2hrs) transits in both directions. The trip is in April 2018. The flight timings from and into CMB don't suit me with respect to my positioning flights. I was looking to change my reservations to extended transit time to approx 12h30min, at DOH, in each direction by paying a change fee.
1. I am unable to make a multi city reservation at this time as I will be modifying an existing 'return' trip reservation.
2. The transit times in each direction is approx 12hr30mins (between 12 and 13hrs)

Questions -
1. Will I still qualify for +Qatar free stopover hotel program?
2. Will I be eligible to avail of the program in both directions?

Thanks in advance

vbh812 the rule about a multicity ticket has never been enforced. Any ticket with 12 or more hours transit time qualifies.
https://discoverqatar.qatarairways.c...s/PLUSQATARTNC states " Qatar Airways E-ticket number is required to be entered at the payment page. Maximum of one booking is allowed per E-ticket number." and this rule appears to be enforced.
Thus you can only have one +Qatar stopover per ticket.

When did you book and when did they cancel? Was it shortly after?

Some days ago i booked a trip to BKK in Mar. 18 which i upgraded with miles to Business (not a multy city booking). I totally forgot (until today) that i will have a 13h transit time in Doha on the flight back home.

Today i tried to book a room under the Discover Qatar offer

https://discoverqatar.qatarairways.com/us-en/plusqatar

and it worked: Have a free of charge room now in Holiday Villa Hotel inclusive transfer from/to airport and visa free

Crisu69 do enjoy your stopover in March.
As has been pointed out several times the rule regarding 'multi city' bookings has been ignored by the +Qatar team. But as G-BOAA has discovered the minimum 12 hour rule is being enforced.
There are only ten days remaining in which this offer can be booked but I, personally, hope that it will be extended yet again.
