Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Thanks I haven’t flown business much so I’m glad the 359 seats are good aswell, there is three flights a day out of SIN I rung qatar they won’t change me to one of the other two which are 351 flights which is pretty annoying

Regarding QSuites, our booking ARN-SIN-OSL went from 0/1 to 1/1 to 1/0 to 0/0 (outbound/inbound).
This helped us rebook to ARN-SIN, KUL-ARN in D class and it also gave us a day more of vacation.
But now or ARN-DOH QR172 on April 10 and DOH-SIN QR944 on April 11 are operated with an A359.
KUL never has QSuites and DOH-ARN QR172 in April 22 is A359 as well IIRC (definitely no QSuites).
How often to they make equipment changes so few weeks before departure?
Our last equipment change was exactly one month before departure.

My last fight to ARN a couple of weeks ago was a A359 and already had Q Suites. It was a nice surprised but since it was a day time flight I don't mind and actually enjoy the old J product.

KUL has Q-Suites quite a few times (usually on the 777 scheduled flights). Check QR cargo a week or two before your flight. Enjoy the Plaza Premium First Lounge at KUL

I don’t know what to expect for my flights early next month.
I'm guessing I was on F then, having just arrived in AKL. Disappointed to not get the Q Suites for such a long flight but it was ok and I must have slept a good 10 hours - no seat mate helped so I could have one chair and one bed. Surprised that I couldn’t find any power sockets other than USB. Was I looking in the wrong place?

Front end of the “pier” between the seats, I think? Always somewhere I overlook.

Ah, nice! Unfortunately we have ARN-DOH and DOH-ARN both operated by A359 without QSuites while KUL-DOH is A333 and DOH-ARN is A359 without QSuites again...
How does QR cargo help? That sounds interesting, but I don't know what or where to check...

Plaza Premium First?! I actually had plans to go to the MH First lounge at KUL as Oneworld Emerald - or is that in different terminal?

QR Cargo allows you to check in advance what type of planes are operating on the route (better accuracy if you are checking 1-2 weeks prior to your flight). You can get the info from the QR Fleet Wiki. I see quite a few 77K (777-200LR Q-Suites flight) on QR 845 (morning departure ex-KUL)

QR sends their passenger to Plaza Premium First (and as a OWE, you are entitled to use the MH First Lounge too). Same terminal/concourse. Maybe 5 minutes walk from each other.

How is that different from checking under "Manage My Booking" or on ExpertFlyer? Which both show the seatmap...?
We're booked on QR172 (ARN-DOH), QR944 (DOH-SIN), QR853 (KUL-DOH), QR171 (DOH-ARN).

Strange that they don't send them to the MH business lounge? Is the Plaza Premium lounge better?

No difference Because with QR, you wouldn't know what plane you'll be on until you show up at the gate I have been QRed a few times (A350 to B777, A380 to B777, A320 to B787). There are only a few exceptions where they don't swap (very rare that they do) - those routes that need the 77L range (AKL/GRU/EZE) plus US/Australia (it can change from 77W to 77L vv but rarely from say A350 to 77W at the very last minute)

I don't know the reason - could be MH Lounge is not up to QR's standards or PPL is cheaper than MH lounge or MH lounge has limited offering at QR's departure time (QR853). MH Lounge is open 24/7 but things wind down after the last MH flight leaves around midnight (food is reduced and workers are cleaning the lounge).

Both have sit down dining option tho.

Thanks!

Yeah, I mean, like I said, they completely swapped everything out over the course of few weeks. Added and removed QSuites back and forth. Let's hope they'll put them back!
