Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.
They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.
The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.
All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.
Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Out of curiousity: I just noticed that the Q-Suites A359 has an odd number of rows - does that mean that the seats in Row 9 have extra storages due to the unused footwell areas which would otherwise be Row 10?

I am usually flying both products..but i personally feel the roomyness of the 777 has its own advantages too..try to get a window in row 3. And if you dont have a neighbour..I might even prefer it to the QSuite. And if you have a pleasant neighbour..well, why not? And in any caste you can get out of the seat without having to climb over anybody. I seriously like the space in their 777s..giving you 3 windows.
That's a personal choice. Having flown the 2-2-2 configuration several times in the past 5 years and then 3 flights in QSuite last month, i am in love with QSuite. I had a 14 hour flight from Doha to Washington on 01/29 and wished i had few more hours. Of course the awesome cabin crew on flight QR707 had a lot to do with it but the privacy and comfort provided by the QSuite was unmatched. For me, everything else seems ordinary as compared to QSuite.

Hey thought i'd throw my view in the melting pot too.
Recently I flew my first ever QR flights. CWL -> DOH - JNB -> DOH -> FRA. I have flew probably all Skyteam and *A but up until this year, never really flown any OW.
Anyway...
QR 2-2-2 is eh... mediocre, nothing terrible nothing great.
But to be honest...the Q Suites were fantastic, I don't have a single negative to say! It was quite simply the best J class I ever flew. The staff on all 4 of my flights were also great. It was very impressive. I look forward to flying them again next week.

I am getting a weird seatmap for my flight (614, DOH-ISB, on Feb 20) - the seatmap shows QSuites - both on the Qatar website and expert flier - but only rows 1-6. The cabin behind the second door (rows 7-11) is missing. Any idea if this is actually a QSuites plane or some sort of bug?

Hey all, I asked this a while ago but didn’t get any answers - any ideas? Thanks.
On the Qatar website, it mentions Maldives as one of the routes with Qsuites. A few weeks back, I was checking Expert Flyer’s seat maps and it was showing Qsuites, however that has now changed and it is only showing Qsuites up until the end of March on the DOH - MLE route. From April onwards, it is showing no Qsuites.
Any thoughts on why this has happened? Or is it just because they are working on their summer schedule so they’ve moved planes around temporarily?

Qsuites experience
Just to report back - even thought this seat map showed up until right before the flight, I ended up on a 777 with four rows in a 2-2-2 configuration. Don't know if the seat map was a glitch or I was the subject of a last minute sub, but the flight and crew were fantastic in any case.
