Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

As of now 22 out of 48 are fitted with the new cabin. The wiki on top of the page has all the information.

Are seat maps for October accurate? Looking at DOH-LAX the last week of October and every day is 77L with 2-2-2 seating.
I thought LAX was going to Q-Suites full time. If it's still hit or miss late in the year, I'm not going to book it.

If you're looking in EF, it's accurate in that it accurately reflects what QR has loaded now, which may or may not be what QR loads later. You can set an equipment change alert in EF for the flight on the dates you are interested in, and if the seat map switches to Qsuites, you'll get an alert.

LAX isn't on the list of officially announced routes, so it may be hit or miss for a while.

They migh have updated their website recently since it now says; "... Qatar Airways’ highly-anticipated, groundbreaking new Qsuite First in Business Class is now flying from Houston (IAH), Chicago (ORD), New York City (JFK), Dallas (DFW), Los Angeles (LAX) and Washington D.C. (IAD)...."

BUT...

LAX isn't in the "Experience QSuite section" so......... one website, two different answers

Yeah, just noticed the same thing. I would take a chance on a award ticket but am reluctant on a (refundable with a $500 fee) paid ticket.

I first scanned the front page of the QR web site to see if it had a link to Qsuites, didn't see one, so typed "Qsuite" into the search box, and got a bunch of FAQs about it, none addressing where they fly (I looked at several, including "Does Qatar Airways plan having the Qsuite on all its aircraft/fleet?" and noticed that none of the answers actually answered the question ("The Qsuite product is currently available on our selected fleet of Boeing 777 and Airbus A350 aircrafts.")). I then selected Journey -> Qsuite and saw under "Experience Qsuite" that LAX is not listed under Americas. I didn't realize there was a different page with different answers. I did try looking at their press releases, but the main view just spins forever and never shows me anything. A search of press releases for "Qsuite" shows announcements that Chicago and Sydney and Mumbai have Qsuites, but not Los Angeles. What's the extra secret incantation for seeing the other page?

Interesting. That page doesn't have that text for me:

Further down that same page, it does list the official Qsuite routes:

But LAX isn't on the list:

Has anyone ever had the whole Qsuite by themselves? I was "close" enough to that position. Flying from DOH to SIN on the A35K last week and only 3 people occupied out of the 46 Qsuites! You could walk up and down, take lots of pics & videos. I even had a double bed to myself! Great moment.

But not great for the airline. I am amazed some are not calling for this route to be scrapped due to low loads.

We had a couple of entirely empty 2 rows in 1 - 2 -1 configurations, so you can drink tea on the sunset window seats, sleep inside middle Qsuites and have coffee on the sunrise (left side) window seats. I guess load factor is measured seasonally.
Also flights to/from SIN were quite packed, just before Chinese new year. Last week low above was probably just after-match dry down after peak Chinese new year.

yes I agree wonder how they still sustain three flights a day ( all a350's) if loads are poor, perhaps it is seasonal dips or just like as being reported higher fares and blockade is having a detrimental effect on loads?

You will find it if you change your location/language to "United States - English" upper right on the page then go to the Qsuite page.

I'm booked on QR 123, DOH-MXP in May and just noticed that they've changed equipment from A330 -> A359 with QSuites. What a pleasant surprise! Had been checking periodically to see if my other 77L flights changed, but did not expect this.
