Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Apologies if this is answered upthread (I have done a search) but I am booked on a 77W with QSuites, but all of the centre section seats are currently blocked. Hopefully that will change nearer the date of the flight, but for now we (a couple) need to book window section seats. Do the A and B or J and K seats have any means of contact (eg a divider that you could drop) or are they so private that we might as well just book two A or two K seats?

On my flight from LHR-DOH current have a few quads opening up. It's a fairly empty flight, would the FAs allow me to combine my seat with an empty adjacent seat into a double bed?

Yes they would, I just did that on my flight to London last December.

Following up on my question below.. any insight appreciated

I was just wondering if this will have negative consequence in terms of service level (eg. Always being served last, when everything can ran out?). The last time I flew on this route quite a lot of stuffs were out of stock by the time I felt like eating.. Thanks in advance

My partner and I were assigned A and B but I was able to get them to unblock center quads by calling QR office, just tell them you would like the center seats.

I don't think there's any adjustment to the outside seats [from one experience in 3K 77W].

Doesn't seem to be very consistent on the quads - I have two upcoming reservations as a couple [one 35K, one 77W], and on both I had no issues assigning 3E&F to us [the quad wasn't already split up, either]. Might be that OWE makes a difference, might just be random.

Is there a list somewhere of which A350-900s (registration) currently have the QSuites?

thanks

Yeah, according to EF QR833 becomes a Q Suite flight from 3/31/2019 ... Lucky you!
i might be able to change my flight, but I don’t really want to arrive at DOH that late...

A7-BBC looks like it hasn't flown in a couple days, next 77L to get Q-Suites?

Lots of weirdness going on with QR28 from MAN to DOH.

Changed from 359 to 773, to 772 and tomorrow switching to 359 with QSuites according to expert flyer. 773s that are being used are about 1 in 4 QSuite versions.

Intrigued what ours will be on 26th Feb

Has there been any news recently on Q-Suite/other for the 787/A380? I think the initial line was "a tweaked Q-Suite to deal with the narrower cabin", but then I belive there was a climbdown from that position - was it mentioned that the adjustments were too substantial...? I presume something will be said prior to the arrival of the 789 - but that doesn't seem to be nailed down yet either...

Makes sense to me to refurb the 772LR. I'm a bit biased though being in New Zealand.

HKG-MUC route has been subject to equipment swap to non q-suites... ridiculous. Both 1 Feb HKG-DOH QR 817 and 9 Feb MUC-DOH QR058 switched to 2-2-2 config...for such a journey! And they split our seats up into random assortments around the plane as well.

Any chance of these going back to Q-suite or is this again up in the air (literally) until the plane arrives at our gate...

Same sentiment here! I'm booked in May / June on AKL-DOH and hoping they can get through 1-2 more refurbs at least by then to take the 77L's to 6-7 out of 9 with QSuites
NZbutterfly and dragman like this.
