Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Welcome! No problem coming in late, but for your own benefit it's advisable to read through the thread, at least read in detail the last few months of posts, and maybe skim the earlier ones. You will learn a lot, including questions you wouldn't think to ask. You will also see multiple identical questions and answers, some of which may be more detailed than others.

1. Can anyone confirm that ORD - DOH is still Q Suites? It does say 777-300ER, but seat guru has two configs.
As has been said many times here, do not trust Seat Guru. It uses a static database, so when flights are likely to change configuration (as QR is famous for doing), it can't know specific configurations for specific flights.

There are two different programs. One is QR SPTC, which is only available when you have a forced layover with no earlier connection possible. The other is the "+Qatar" program. It is available when the layover is your own choice, and provides hotel accommodations, but not feed vouchers not transport (but some hotels, such as the Oryx Rotana, provide their own transportation). See the FT thread: Free Doha Stopovers & Hotel until 30th April 2019

Thanks...helping a newbie...
See point 1. Also, if you have a QR booking, use the booking management option on the QR web site, which will show you the specific seat map for your specific flight.

I am also interested in this. Trying to book flight in december and looking to fly qsuites. DFW having qsuites would be the most convenient without having to connect.

What is the latest timeline of all 777/350 aircraft being fully converted to Qsuite?

How many have been completed and how many are left to go?

Hi all,

I am hopefully going to be flying to Singapore from somewhere in EU this summer and I am hoping to try out the QSuites (I am not normally a business class traveller, so want to maximise my experience now that I am able to for this route! On the Qatar website, it says that flight nos QR 944/945 and QR 946/947 should have QSuites. On Google Flights, it shows "Individual suite" for QR943. Does Google know something more, or is this pure speculation from Google's behalf?

I also see that the Qatar website says the QR 171/172 should have QSuites too, but Google Flights is showing just "Lie flat seat" for QR171 (at least on my dates).

Personally, I would check EF seat maps for the specific routes and dates you are considering, with the caution that QR is notorious for changing configurations. Your safest bet would be to book (somewhere in Europe) -> London -> Doha -> Singapore, with LHR-DOH on QR 6, QR 8, or QR 2 or QR 16. The first two are 77Ws, which I think have larger Qsuites.

This question popped up here already in November, but no one answered.
I'm seeing 77W map with only 6 business class rows, which look like QSuites on EF.

It looks like it's a high-density 77W with QSuites. Do such planes exist? It shows for AMS-DOH for Thursdays only. If so, considering equipment swap risk, is it more likely that this one would be switched to an old 2-2-2 configuration?

Yes, it's definitely a QSuites aircraft, obviously. Is it more likely to be swapped? I don't think so. All LH aircraft are being converted to QSuites configs. As each month passes, there are more flights on QSuite aircraft. I think that it's really a question of you pays your money and you takes your chances for anything other than an official QSuites route, like IAD.

What is an 'official' QSuites route? Amsterdam is in the list of the Qroutes on QR website: https://www.qatarairways.com/en/onboard/qsuite.html

I asked QR on Twitter and this is their canned response:
"We gather that the system hasn't been fully streamlined yet with the developing update. However, these routes have the Qsuite. Please note however that aircraft may change anytime without notice if operations call for it. You will have to keep on checking and get back to us for assistance with your confirmed booking."

Booked Sof-sin and the doh-sin legs are on a 350-1000. I have booked the 4 of us in a quad and can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to it!
Anyway has anyone actually flown as a 4 with the dividers open and having to be sociable? If so what was it like and would you recommend sitting in the seats closer or further apart?

I fly often as a party of two and we always choose the seats close together (EF), but if you are a party of four and you want a quad then you do not have any choice because a quad is the four seats EFDG. Two of your party will be in the two seats close together (EF) and the other two will be in the two seats further apart (DG). Your other choices are to forgo a quad and have two EF pairs, or put everyone in window seats, or two and two.

Thanks, it's my wife and the two kids so was wondering what's better if we stick the kids on one side of the quad.

Depends how close you and your wife like to be, and if your kids fight with each other. You might take the EF seats for yourself and your wife, and ask the FA to make it into a double bed, and put your kids in DG where they can still talk to each other and you, but won't be right next to each other. Or if your kids love to be close (maybe they are twins) and you and your wife don't, switch it (put the kids in EF and do or don't ask for the two seats to be made into a double bed depending on how close your kids like to be).
