Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seatA video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.
They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.
The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.
All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.
Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

On Friday I was in 5A. So only one more row behind me before the gallery. It was a daytime flight but I cannot remember hearing any noise at all. So would have no issue being in row 6, or the first row after the gallery (row 7). The toilets are at the front so you don't have to worry about that noise either.

My flight is NRT-DOH. Based on my experience, flights departing from Japan have enough space as pax don't bring too much, or I could say much less than they allowed.

I was wondering if you made the change or at least took a look at these seats when you flew. I'm considering row 11 middle for my wife and I was thinking these seats having the feet on the bulkhead might have bigger footwells. Any other insights would be invaluable as well!!

So I know it was announced that LAX-DOH route will be getting Qsuites in 2019. I was looking at DOH-LAX route in Oct 2019 and noticed that on 10/27/2019, it switches back to the old 2-2-2 layout. Are the Qsuites on the LAX route seasonal?

If you check the routes listed for Qsuites at QR's Qsuite routes page, LAX isn't listed. My understanding is that LAX is one of many routes where QR has loaded Qsuites into the schedule without an announcement/commitment, which means they could be swapped out at any time. Hopefully, as QR upgrades more of their fleet to Qsuites, more routes will be announced.

Just arrived DOH on 835. Was supposed to be a standard 2-2-2 77W. Aircraft substitution, ended up with a 359 with QSuites. This was my first "overnight" QSuites flight (2100 departure, 7+ hour flight). There is much that I like about the QSuites, including the six small bites plate, notwithstanding the closed in feeling I got because it's fairly small to have a door that closes. However, it didn't really work for me trying to sleep; it was just too cramped. I'm not a big guy, 5'8" (almost) and 140 lbs. While it worked fine for me on a daytime flight, it was just too cramped for a comfortable sleep. So overall, I prefer the "old" 359 J product. I am aware, however, that eventually all QR longhaul flights will be QSuite.

I'm just a little bit bigger (5'9" 150 lbs) and for me, the sleep is so much better with the walls and door. I'm curious what you found cramped while trying to sleep? Was part of the suite touching you, or was it a closed-in feeling?

Flying Business from Manchester to Penang via Doha in Feb/March. Looks like planes are swapping every week from 359 to 773er to 788. Doha Penang looks to be on 330 with old seats which is fine, but really wanted an A350. However looks like some of the 773 flights from Manchester now have QSuites. Difficult to know what’s best.

The PEN flights seem to undergo an endless cycle of aircraft changes, but ultimately, it will likely be a 787 that flies you there. If it was me, I'd check the seat-map in early January; note the seat-map opposed to the aircraft type in MMB.
I'm not sure PEN has ever been served by an A350 - the 787 is the usual aircraft for the relatively empty flight, and it is rare that an A330 flies there (albeit it is the usual placeholder in the schedule).
Safe travels,
M

Both, really. I find the seat pretty narrow, and don't understand why it couldn't have been a little wider. And, yes, there was a general closed-in feeling. I think that they might have done better having the seats face forward instead of at an angle and made them a bit wider.
