Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Which routes have Qsuites?

Hi Everyone, my wife and I are flying Qsuites together on separate record locators.

The online system does not allow either of us to select any of the middle seats, only the window single seats. The middle ones are blocked off on the online seatmap.

I called Qatar airways, waited on hold, gave her the record locator, and she said *all* of the middle qsuites are blocked off for airport use. She said they are available, but there is *no way* to assign them until we arrive at the airport.

This sounds crazy to me. Can this possibly be true? it's a risk I really don't wan to take. Thanks.

Hm, when did ICN lose QSuites? I thought they were one of the first routes to get it but it looks like at least in May 2019 it’s back to an old 77W 2-2-2 layout.

Any thoughts on 1K vs 8K vs 10K for a solo traveller? This is on a daytime flight so not too concerned about galley noise but not keen on people hanging around my seat waiting for the loo etc - is that an issue in 1K?
Thanks

LOVE 8k, view of that massive engine and the wing! Never had any problem with "loowaiters", they are mostly behind the curtain, besides, you have a door now :-)
The loo in the middle galley is in my opinion bigger than the other ones.

I will second this, I had 8K from JFK to DOH and felt that it was a great seat.

When discussing specific seats and specific lavatories, it's probably best to clarify which type of plane, as the galleys and lavatories are arranged differently (and from reports there are differences in the Qsuites themselves).

I noticed that QR 980 (77W DOH-BKK) has been served by A7-BEB with Q-Suites in 3 of the last 4 days now. Before this was never a Q-Suite flight.
Since I'm on this flight in a few weeks from now, I guess I can have hope to get Q-Suites?

Just booked an award flight on QR1 for next week, which is currently being served by A359.
From looking at the history on Flight Radar, twice in the last week it was a non Q-Suite aircraft, so knowing my luck I'll get one of those days!

It is and I can't wait!
I noticed the other day my seat number changed and I called Qatar airlines and their online support team has confirmed Q-Suites.
I did not check the other planes or flights but I can confirm QR 744 (BOS to DOH) on the Boeing 777-300ER will have the new seats; FYI my flight date is October 6th, 2019.
Fortunately I was able to book the 2-rear facing seats for the double bed conversion with my wife.

Traveling on the A350-1000 in March, and I picked the center seats at row 11 - which is in the mini cabin behind the galley. Does anyone know if this is a good pick, as the bathroom seems to be just behind based on the seat map? I'm just mostly concerned about bathroom smells. But looks great for minimal foot traffic. Any other reco for 2 people on the A350-1000 would be greatly appreciated!

I saw today that our flight to MLE (674 on 10 December) has just changed from A350-1000 to A350-900, so no Qsuite by the looks of it....real shame as the family were really looking forward to it
