Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

This is nothing at all like scheduling a QSuite 77W for DOH-CMB and then swapping it out at the last minute.
Your words sound like authoritative wisdom, but many posters here might disagree.
There have been many, many routes where Qsuites have been introduced (I don't like the term"officially launched") and where there is "official" (i.e. scheduled) change of ac. I am not talking about last minute ac substitution, but about sudden aircraft change in the schedule.
Having flown over 50 J flights with QR, I got about the same number of scheduled equipment changes. One of my DOH-CDG flight got three ac changes within 4 months.
Maybe the US flights have a greater degree of "stability"

QR 729 DOH-DFW on 03/25 just got switched to Q-Suites. On hold with AA trying to grab 2 seats in E & F because the system automatically put us in 2 window seats.

Edit: Got assigned 3E&F. Had to tweet Qatar to get those seats assigned as AA couldn't do it.

I totally get that, and what I said is definitely not authoritative wisdom. But looking at seat maps consistently for the North American routes with QSuite, if it's not scheduled as QSuite through end of schedule, you'll see that they often change the seat configuration to QSuite in the schedule a few months out, but rarely, if ever, change them back. You do hear a lot on here about aircraft changes on the European routes, but almost none on the NA routes. I think the US routes do have a greater degree of stability.

@Benijinito Thanks for posting this - that prompted me to check my DFW-DOH flight (albeit later in the year than yours) and the seat map is also Q-Suites. Now if I can just get the DOH-DPS leg to become Q-Suites before my trip

Lucky to have my flight from LAX-DOH now show Qsuites for late February, couldn't select middle seats to travel with companion initially. Called Qatar support who said the center sections could not be reserved until the day of the flight at the airport and they had no access to the seats. But can confirm contacting Qatar by tweet they were able to put us in the center seats, and now all center seats are open for me to switch around when checking online so I could move around to different rows if desired when previously they were all grayed out.

A350-900 with q suites?

Does anyone know how many A359 already flying with the new q suites?
I have a flight SIN-DOH in December and when qr947 and surprising when I schedule it was the brand new A350-1000, but this week I went to qatar and website and they changed it to old A359 and change the A350-1000 to a later flight in the same route...
Wondering if luckly there's a chance of get this retrofitted A359 in my route...

Our DFW-DOH flight in March just switched to QSuite and I was able to switch to seats to the 3E/F using their website. I saw one press release where they mentioned DFW a few months ago and was beginning to give up hope... Know it could switch back but at least there is hope.

Manila is a 24J route, how many QSuites aircraft are there with a 24J layout today, and are these likely to be rotated into the MNL route?

I'm flying MNL-DOH return in February, am trying to figure out of the chances of getting a QSuite aircraft is >0%. I know I'm more likely to be stuck in the old 2-2-2 config but one can always hope.

Also, is the J food any different between QSuites and the older 2-2-2 product?

There is an additional snack menu on the Qsuite (alongside the standard menu) which can be handy if e.g. you don't like the appetisers and want to swap for an amuse bouche style snack.

The wiki tells you which aircraft have Q-Suites (many thanks to Frausflyer)
Cross check this data with historic data from flightradar 24 and you can predict (as good as anyone else here) if you will see Q-Suites on that route

Thanks, the difference is that the wiki doesn't distinguish (unless I totally missed it) between the J42/Y312 and J24/Y388 QSuite configurations, so my question was out of the list on the wiki, how many of these are J24/Y388?
