Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!

What type of aircraft was it? Also, that was 177° but the seat is horizontal/flat, right? You might find that that is comfortable. The aircraft flies at a few degrees nose-up (depends on the a/c type, but 2-3° is not uncommon), which would give you a perfectly horizontal bed. If the bed is horizontal to the aircraft, you end up flying a couple of degrees head down because of the nose-up attitude of the aircraft, which I find disconcerting and difficult for sleeping. Works great for me.

Just booked TXL - BKK return in Nov and are surprised to finally find the seat map (24J/388Y) of Q-Suite on both TXL-DOH-TXL legs. Looks like A7-BEB which returned from maintenance with Q-Suite (first one in high density) this week will primally used on this leg. QRcargo shows it as 77N, so no chance at the moment to see if equipped with Q-Suite or not.

Not that strange, considering that EF is getting the info from what QR has loaded into the GDS, and considering the rather poor state of QR's web site overall. Presumably, the pre-booking information page uses old data that is not refreshed very often.

I've heard this rather often over the years, often used to assert that an angle-flat seat such as the old QF J or JL J seats are more comfortable and better for sleeping that true lie-flat seats. I'm glad you enjoy that sort of seat. My own experience has been that I always feel the angle of such seats, sometimes even sliding down during the night. Speaking personally, I am very glad for true lie-flat seats. To each his own.

The difference between 177 degrees and 180 degrees is meaningless. No one slides down a 3 degree incline, unless well lubricated (sorry, double entendre).

Now the old AA 150 degree seats, those were something else.

Yes, of course. However, the statement that because planes fly somewhat nose-up at cruise, an angled seat is effectively flat (and a true-flat seat is effectively slanted down) is one that has been repeated quite a bit as justification for the angled seats such as the two I mentioned (old QF and JL). My point was only that such statements never matched my own personal experience flying such seats. I'm sure those who made the statements had experiences that matched what they said.

It's not about sliding down, it's about having your head higher than your feet rather than feet higher. One of the reasons that we use pillows.

Flew AMS-Doha in 3E/F and both Mrs E2S & I were very impressed. I kept my door open, as there was only 1 other passenger on my side of the plane. Mrs E2S closed hers after the meal as she wanted to stop the CC topping up her champagne

On the 777 Q Suites is there anywhere they set out wine/snacks/etc. like on the "old" A359 layout? I like having a place to stand if even for a moment without feeling i'm in the galley.

According to The Qatar Source ? Qatar Airways News and Information A7-BEB is now fitted with QSuite and retain the 24J/388Y config.

Does Flight QR1364 Have Qsuite

Flying business class on the 77W to Doha from Johannesburg and cannot seem to find the correct seat map.

Does the 777-300ER (W77) have Qsuite? I see they are rotating through (A7-BAK)(A7-BAC)(A7-BAO)(A7-BEJ)(A7-BAO)(A7-BAC)
