Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.
They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.
The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.
All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.
Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

hello,
I'm trying to book DOH-BKK on 17 October.
Expertflyer shows Qsuite but Seatguru show old configuration ( I dont know about the official website it's not clear )
Dont wanna get screwed, better fly A380 if it's an old configuration
what's your opinion? Qsuite or not?

Anyone expecting Qsuites on the A359 between DOH/JFK (QR703/4) through the remaining of Sept should expect equipment swaps to non-Qsuite aircraft. I am told this is due to continuing performance evaluation of the newer A359 still ongoing for A7-AME which is done on shorter flights). The DOH/JFK flights scheduled as A350-1000 for QR703/4 should be safe.

Of bigger concern is will Qatar actually operate the A350-1000 on that day between JFK and DOH. Despite what the schedule says they are having rotation issues with the A350-1000 on the JFK-DOH route. I would say there is reasonable chance that 24 hours prior you could be swapped to the A350-900 (and possibly without Qsuites). There really is no way to predict right now. I can tell you that by Nov, 777-300 will be completely off that route (based on pilot staffing) so that actually could work against you if you are looking for Qsuites since even by Nov they will only have three or four A359 with Qsuites in the fleet so if they make an A359 swap the chances are that it will not have Qsuites. Over the past week there have been a number of non-Qsuite A359 flights to and from JFK on the International JFK Terminal flight.
One other thing, is that if you are swapped check the seat assignments right away. I was recently swapped from an A359 (non-Qsuite) to A359 Qsuites aircraft (great luck) to Frankfurt. Despite being a party of two in the same PNR (issued by QR) our original non-Qsuite seats of 3E/3F were changed to to windows on the new Qsuite equipment.

Not sure if it’s been reported or if it’s a one off. My Stockholm to Doha’s flight in November is a350-900 Qsuite aircraft according to the seat map.
