Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Anyone expecting Qsuites on the A359 between DOH/JFK (QR703/4) through the remaining of Sept should expect equipment swaps to non-Qsuite aircraft. I am told this is due to continuing performance evaluation of the newer A359 still ongoing for A7-AME which is done on shorter flights). The DOH/JFK flights scheduled as A350-1000 for QR703/4 should be safe.

Actually, anyone expecting consistent Qsuites on any route operated by A359 is wrong. For example QR38 CDG-DOH typically operates with non-Qsuites twice (or three times) a week.

QR82 13.12 from TXL shows Qsuite

Edit: also QR830/831Qsuites to BKK seems to be extended for the winter months

Just booked my a350-1000 flight from DOH-JFK. Has anyone flew in the mini cabin rows 11-12? We are a couple, and wondering if we should book 12E,F. Is there a lot of noise from the galley and economy class behind us?

I have recently flown twice in the mini cabin of the A350-1000. I personally like it and its now my favorite on QR esp in terms of privacy. If you guys want the seats to convert into the double bed rows row 12 doesn't do that (and there are no seats 12E/12F only 12D/12G, so I will assume you are asking about 11E/11F). In my opinion 11E/11F are the best J cabin seats on the a351. I believe they offer the best privacy as rarely will anyone pass by on their way to the lav...on the flip side you may not get as much attention from the crew but it seems with Qsuites doors closed that issue is the same regardless of the location in J and the easy remedy is to just push the call button. If you're not a call button user, then it's really easy just to step back a meter or so to summons the flight crew in the galley for whatever you may need. As far as galley noise, I have never been bothered and I feel as time goes on, esp with the larger J cabins such as with Qatar, the whole galley noise argument has become an old myth. The only serious drawback in my opinion is if there is a really loud screaming infant in the front row bassinet of economy but the likelihood of that is rather remote and there is significant separation to Row 11 and first row of Y.

Of bigger concern is will Qatar actually operate the A350-1000 on that day between JFK and DOH. Despite what the schedule says they are having rotation issues with the A350-1000 on the JFK-DOH route. I would say there is reasonable chance that 24 hours prior you could be swapped to the A350-900 (and possibly without Qsuites). There really is no way to predict right now. I can tell you that by Nov, 777-300 will be completely off that route (based on pilot staffing) so that actually could work against you if you are looking for Qsuites since even by Nov they will only have three or four A359 with Qsuites in the fleet so if they make an A359 swap the chances are that it will not have Qsuites. Over the past week there have been a number of non-Qsuite A359 flights to and from JFK on the International JFK Terminal flight.

One other thing, is that if you are swapped check the seat assignments right away. I was recently swapped from an A359 (non-Qsuite) to A359 Qsuites aircraft (great luck) to Frankfurt. Despite being a party of two in the same PNR (issued by QR) our original non-Qsuite seats of 3E/3F were changed to to windows on the new Qsuite equipment.

Not sure if it’s been reported or if it’s a one off. My Stockholm to Doha’s flight in November is a350-900 Qsuite aircraft according to the seat map.
