Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Concur on your statements. While the A350 "bar" is nothing compared to the A380 it is still nice to have a common area to stretch or chat.

Are either of the A359 used between ARN-DOH with Q suites?

I have a return ticket CDG-HKG in September/October and this is the fourth change involving a segment losing (3) or gaining (1) Qsuites
Are you sure it's been replaced with an A380? Flights in Sept and Oct appear to have been swapped to the old 77w with 2-2-2 seats. I have MAD-DOH-CDG booked in Oct. First they swapped the A350 on the outward leg to old 77w and now took away my Qsuites on the way back (the main reason I was doing the trip!). Any idea if they will let me swap my flight back to a later one on a better plane because of this?! Not too impressed with the downgrade on both legs, especially as I'm traveling alone for once.

I don't think so, at least not on a consistent and scheduled basis

Nothing is sure with QR

But QR41 (and I guess QR42, not 40) was just swapped from a 77W with suites to an A380.
I only checked the first two weeks of October, but it seems that the swap starts on 26/9. And before that date they schedule an old 77W.
Again nothing is sure with QR and that could change tmr.

As to changing your flight because of equipment swap: no way!

Thanks @brunos. Unfortunately QR41 on 30/10 is showing an old 77w layout on the QR website and the same for other dates I looked up. My EF account has lapsed though so can't check there. I booked with Avios so that could have given some flexibility for me to change but it was through Iberia not BA. I guess I will just have to hope for a further equipment swap.

Been booked on two separate Q suite flights. Missed connection on the first and a aircraft swap on the other means I have still yet to test out.

Is there any hard data on aircraft being refitted with Suites? Over the past couple of days I've booked something like 30 flights for the next six months, or so; and it seems like a generally higher percentage of QSuites flights based on seatmaps. All flights on "heavy" aircraft.

I still maintain that the window seats on 350 and similar are pretty much just as good as QSuites. Yes, they don't have doors; but they're quite comfortable, plenty of storage space, they're private, and the seat, itself, is possibly even a little wider than the seat in a QSuite. I'm equally happy with either.

It is completely unnecessary to have a paid EF subscription, but of course you do need an account (and accounts don't lapse). One seat alert is free. Just proceed as if you are setting up a seat alert, and you will see the seat map. You can then quit without setting up the seat alert. You can't do this more than about 3 times a day.

Indeed. QR41/42 is now scheduled as a mix of old 77W and A380. They again changed some ac from A380 to old 77W yesterday.

A7-BAF (9 year old 77W) has just re-entered service and is showing as 77P meaning it has been re-configured with Qsuites.

Just a quick one to say that I really loved our first QSuite. We were in 1A and 2B. I know that some people may not like being so close to the toilets and galley and indeed, there was quite a bit of traffic at times, but when the door was closed, everything felt a lot more tolerable and the space is pleasant and rather serene. As always, I have reservation with the raised headrest when in bed position (I sleep on my front and prefer true flatness) but everything about the suite and well conceived and well effected. Even the charging ports seem a lot faster and more effective than on other planes. It made my 15 hours flight feel like it was going a lot faster than in the old style 77W.

Just booked a last minute Qsuites flight from JFK to DOH on an overnight flight which will still be operated by the 777-300 (77W) equipped with Qsuites.

We are a couple travelling together and have only the following options to sit together:

1E/1F
7E/7F
11E/11F

So there is potential galley noise in both rows 1 and 7 but which does anyone think might be less? And what about Row 11? It's really close to economy and concern about a crying baby in the first row of economy cabin. We intent to try and get the most sleep possible. Any thoughts or opinions are welcomed.
