Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Hi Silver Falcon,
I don't believe that article is correct. A7-ALU has the old J configuration fitted.

ALY and ALZ of the current A359's are those to have Q-Suites fitted.

Qatar Airways A350-900 A7-ALU was delivered Toulouse – Doha this evening as QR3350. The aircraft is in 36J/247Y Qsuites configuration and wears Large Logo/Medium Oryx livery. This is the 23rd A350-900 delivered to the airline.
I’ve posted upthread that I’ve flown on it and it’s not Qsuites...

Flew on Qsuites A350 to LHR yesterday. I had mixed feelings on it. The positives are that the seat is very comfortable in the sleep position, and the TV is good sized.

The negatives are that it is incredibly small. Its a very effective use of space, and in effect is an upgrade design on the old BA ying yang seat, but the length of the area in total is no more than 1 and a half arm lengths, incredibly tiny. As it is so small, when in the take off position, your feet are wedged against a floor panel unless you want to put them in the leg hole which i found not so much to my liking. Its impossible to stretch your feet on the ground.

I'm current;y booked DFW-DOH for next January and have been checking to shift to LAX-DOH. I wonder if there's some hope DFW might be operated with QSuites by then? (I'm booked on two LHR-DOH QR8 flights, both showing QSuites, but as a shorter daytime flight I'm not sure it makes that much difference, while DFW-DOH is a longer overnight flight where the extra privacy seems likely to be much more beneficial.)

I may be wrong and this is purely my opinion only, the blockade seems to be having a substantial impact on QR's financial performance.
I hope the embargo gets lifted soon. I would have hoped that, especially as it's become a huge stalemate, that diplomats would have worked out by now a face-saving way to end it while allowing all sides to claim victory, e.g., by issuing a joint statement that all regional nations have agreed to a set of anti-terrorism steps that sound good even if having zero real effect.

It's not about supporting terrorism; that's just the spin they put on it. It's really about economics; and that isn't going away any time soon.

OT: I don't think that this situation will be solved in the foreseeable time.

I thought it was about regional power plays and Qatar's Al Jazira network, and perhaps some payback from the current U.S. regime for Qatar refusing to back the son-in-law's business. But regardless, my post was suggesting that since it's a stalemate that no one is winning, and since the ostensible reason was terrorism, that a meaningless mutual statement could provide a face-saving way out. I don't think I said or implied that it was really about terrorism, and if I thought it was, I'm not sure why I would have suggested a meaningless mutual statement as a resolution.

My wife and I are booked on QR701 from doh to jfk in December. It looks like the seats are qsuites. Which pair do you recommend? We have provisionally reserved the middle seats in row 3. Thanks

Row 3 is just fine. Do not change. Do not overthink it. The suites are lovely in every row.

Qatar has loaded the 77L with QSuite to IAH from June 5th. I don't recall seeing a 77L going into refurb though.

Edit: A7-BBG has been in maintenance in Doha since April 22nd, maybe they are starting to do refurb in house. https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/a7-bbg

Wonderful news! Maybe I'll see the QSuites in EZE on my trip in Feb19. When they first announced the seats Sao Paulo (and Buenos Aires) were supposed to be one of the first routes to get them

Does anybody know something about the DOH-SYD-CBR route with QSuites?
It was announced in February by QR to start beginning of June with QSuites to their new destination. Until today there is still the old layout loaded.

I know you can't say something about QRs schedule in the future - just want to know if someone heard something.

Thanks.

DOH - FRA

This is going to be fun, this was a last minute booking (last week) and when I made it I couldn't select a seat on the DOH - FRA leg and the advice here was that they don't allow pax to choose seats in order to get the Quads properly sorted. As you all said.... I couldn't choose a seat in MMB but I was busy so took my outbound flights (to SIN) and thought "heyho, I won't mind much what they give me by the time I get to DOH on the way back".

At checkin today at SIN, they gave me a boarding pass with 11B and I was afraid of a sleepless night from the bassinets in economy behind me so I asked what else was available..... "window or aisle" was the reply and the best window on offer was 2B.

What fun, I have heard about Qseats now to try them.... I am a bit concerned because I am tall but let's see what happens.

I had finished work and got to the airport early, I have used the SATS lounge before and wasn't too impressed so took the skytrain over to T1 to go to the Qantas lounge.... there was a LONG queue to get in so I bailed out and went to the BA lounge next door. What a joy, peaceful and empty with a good choice of wine with the satay!

Happy travelling

At 6'4" I had no issue with the length of the QSuite. Enjoy.
