Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seatA video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.
They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.
The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.
All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.
Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

I couldn't say either way. But if it's the airline's choice, it's curious that they'd choose such different lav signage on two birds that were delivered a month apart.

Lav signage is limited to what the aircraft manufacturer has allowed to be installed on the type. If you as a carrier want to install something else you have to get an STC for that, which most airlines avoid.
Inflight moving map is based on what platform the carrier picked to operate. QR picked 'TopSeries Avant' by Thales (i5000 and/or i8000) for their A350 cabins, similar to the system on the 787. For the B77W they use Panasonic ex2.
The 77X will get Panasonic NEXT.

Qatar Qsuites to BKK?
Was checking into my flight and noticed that QR830 has a new seating arrangement!
Is this really what I think it is? The Qsuites? I hope I don't get QRed and have an equipment swap to a non-retrofitted triple 7. That would make me very sad.

Yes, I was equally surprised a couple of months ago when I boarded 831 and saw them. I had been informed of an aircraft substitution and that I had been moved to 1A. Never bothered to look at the seating chart before I went to the airport.

I don't think it's a question of flight numbers. Both my QSuite flights (same route) were due to have 'superfast internet' which was announced onboard, outbound there was no signal at any point, inbound it worked like a charm with one hour (consecutive) free.

J cabin was sparsely populated on all four sectors (A332, A359, A359, A320) total 15 pax! The best was the first revenue rotation of A7-AME MLE-DOH with Q suites and 3 J pax so we had a crew member each, shame it was only a 4 hour sector.

Just did MUC DOH in 8k on a B77W and was a bit underwhelmed. Don't like the reverse flying one bit. The wing and the ge90 were a curious sight in the beginning but then blocked my view.
The seat is rather narrow and very firm. I'm not very tall or wide but doubt that a 6ft person would feel ok with the length. The footwell in my seat was already broken and bent out of shape. Plugging in your things to the right across the path felt odd. The suite door thing is a novelty. What was cute was the Indian and Philipino FAs/CSD peeking over the door checking if I needed anything.
In the end it feels like the Thomson Vantage with reverse seating and a door. Flying home in 4K on Friday will report my impressions.

First trips on the Q suite and the Apex suite (Oman) coming up, will be very interested to compare. I can see Apex being more comfortable if not as fashionable
