Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seatA video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg
Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html
From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.
They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.
The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.
All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.
Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

They could fit the seats from the A350s (and later on 787s and A380) to smaller aircrafts, but I'm not sure if it would be worth it on A330/A340s as I don't know how long they plan on keeping them. It's probably a waste of space on the long route A320s. I doubt that they will end up in another aircraft. Too much customization.

Though I would love to see that, I don't think they'll fit in the 330/340s. There must have been a reason why they installed these B/E Diamond seats instead of the vastly superior Super Diamonds.

You don't need OW status to access an OW business class lounge if traveling with an OW carrier in J. The lounge access policy differs for One World vs. Star Alliance.
Paid J ticket on an One World partner airline gives access to any One World Business Class Lounge (there are a few exceptions) regardless of whether you have status or not and likewise for a paid F. Not sure about award redemptions. Status comes in handy when flying in Economy.

The lounges are available for passengers who are:
- flying on a scheduled British Airways flight in First, Club World or Club Europe (which i am not)
- a Silver or Gold Member of the British Airways Executive Club on a scheduled flight operated by British Airways or one of our oneworld partners (which i am not)
- a Sapphire or Emerald member of any of the oneworld airline frequent flyer programmes on a scheduled flight operated by British Airways or one of our oneworld partners (which i am not)
though, on the oneworld page, what they say contradicts the BA site, and in line with what others have echoed:
Customers flying First or Business Class have access to the equivalent class of lounge regardless of their frequent flyer status. First Class passengers may use a Business Class or frequent flyer lounge if a First Class lounge is not available.
but either way, my flight departs in the morning before either the Qantas/BA lounge opens, so i guess its DNATA then haha

With OWS/OWE or C/F ticket you can access C/F lounges that are designated as OW lounges. On the contrary, you won't be able to access contract lounges or non-OW lounges (e.g. many of the QR lounges) unless you fly on the specific airline and hold the proper status/boarding pass.
I highly recommend using the OW lounge finder in English. I'm not sure about the other languages available, but the German version is definitely ambiguous.
Here's the example of the text below the airline logos for the Cathay Pacific lounge at LHR T3
As there's only the CX logo, that text would suggest that only CX passenger with C/F ticket or OWS/OWE could access that lounge.
The French and English text is much clearer with regard to accessing lounges with the boarding pass of another OW airline.

I doubt that they do overall. But as a general rule in international travel, a business class ticket gets you into the business class lounge of the carrier you are flying at the departure airport.

They should just have left away "dieser". "... die mit einer OW Fluggesellschaft fliegen..." would've been ideal. I've had this discussion with a German friend who didn't believe me when I told him he could go to any lounge.

I'm sure the Qsuite will generally feel spacious and it is a great use of the available space, but the actual seat itself is the slight compromise in my opinion.
Still can't wait to try it out for myself though

But isn't that what it's all about? If the seat feels spacious but actually takes up less space, everyone wins, no?
