Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

A7-BEN is probably the newest with Q-Suites. Flew yesterday DOH-LHR on QR007. What a fantastic experience, so much more private. Flying facing the back didn’t make a difference!

Is there a guide somewhere where it shows the best seats for solo travellers on the Qsuites? Would love to know the differences between the individual seats on the side and generally best location. Is it hard to look out the window on the seats closer to aisle? Also, one of my concerns with the rear facing seats are the flight attendants always coming from the galley in the other direction?

ASUDan130 the only real information is in the Wiki but it is very, very sparse, Post 417 and a post 450 or near have some further information.
Rear facing seats are backward facing seats and are some distance from the aisle. The privacy features and geometry of the seats means that aisle communication will be more difficult. The forward facing 'side' seats have some cupboards etc in the way of the actual window.

Wife and I flew QSuites yesterday 12/25 DOH-JFK (QR 701). If flying solo And interested in looking out the window, I'd definitely opt for the rear facing single suites as they're much closer to the window. Just watch your dining table on landing- we landed rough at JFK and the two empty single suite tray tables on either side of our middle suite shot out forward toward the seats as we braked.

We flew middle suite 1E - 1F. There was very little noise from the galley. Unfortunately the divider would not completey retract so we were unable to experience the double bed and had to spend the 14+ hour flight with the partition stuck between us at about shoulder height. None of the dividers in the front cabin were operating properly.

Crew was clearly not well trained on or comfortable with the new QSuites. We had to show FAs how to raise/lower internal arm rests and had to explain that entertainment monitors do not have an off switch (they apparently only go into sleep mode after a few minutes of inactivity on the home screen).

With the exception of the purser and the FA working our area of the cabin the the crew was not up to normal QR standards. Some of the FAs were downright rude. Lots and lots of missed details and lack of service throughout the flight.

On the plus side the seats are very comfortable and the suites really do offer a lot of privacy, particularly for single cabins.

Flew also the center paired seats in Qsuite and the crew really struggled to lower completely the center partition. Well after 10 mn they managed it and i could enjoy the double bed!

Are the 777s to DPS already upgraded? (I was deducting from your username that you know Bali and was hoping you referred to this route when talking about you QSuite experience.)

ICN launch on QSuite has been brought forward to QR858/22JAN and IAD to QR707/06JAN due to early arrivals of the new B777s.

A7-BEP will be on display at a Kuwait Airshow 17-20JAN for those in the area.

ExpertFlyer gets its data directly from the GDS, as loaded by the airline. So it should be accurate.

Seatguru shouldn't be trusted, there are many many old configurations there that no longer exist.

Really curious to see first impressions after the first long haul flights!
I have flown London Doha Doha London on QSuites on 777 300 & flown Auckland Doha Doha Auckland on business 777 200. I must admit I find the 777 200 seating has a lot more room. Doing it again this year & trying 380

Phatdaddy welcome to Flyertalk and to the QR forum. You will probably find the QR dashboard a helpful tool.

Within the confines of an aircraft cabin there has to be a trade off between privacy and spaciousness as your helpful comments show.
It is human nature that whatever airlines do there will be complaints. You get privacy and complain about lack of spaciousness or you get spaciousness and complain about lack of privacy.
I personally think that the Super Diamond seat of the A350 and B787 has got it about right. There can be both more spaciousness and more privacy than previous cabins.

Looks like summer schedule has been loaded, June DOH-JFK flight has switched to QSuites on Qatar's website. As per others, all middle rows are blocked (2 pax res). Are we seeing consistency on how long before the flight those tend to come open so far?
