Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

It will (eventually) be across the fleet in B777s and A350s. There will be a new seat development for the B787s as this new seat cant fit in the 787.

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230 (probably going 3-4-3 in Y, from 217)
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

jaytmoore welcome to the QR forum.
JFK has two daily rotations. You might want to check the other rotation to see if it changes with the Summer timetable.
Looking at the QR timetable it appears that the 359 rotation changes from QR701/2 to QR703/4 about then.

Not sure about the loads. The A35K is much bigger than the 77L (which is shorter than the A359) and the A35K has the lowest range of the three airplanes when full.

I'm hoping the new seatmap will load closer to date!

Hopefully that's the case. QR703/4 is still showing the A350 on 4/16. So unless JFK is losing the Q Suites, QR701/2 should remain the target.

Looking at dates from JFK in Feb. QR 704 is on the A350 while 702 is a 777. So which one has a better chance to have the Q Suites?

Hold on , you're saying that QR also stick the Qsuite 777's randomly on other non-QSuite destinations ? Damn super luck on your TXL flight then

I'm bummed my flight from JFK on 4/20 doesn't show the Qsuite either. A part of me wanted to go with the A350 rather than play the Qsuite lottery game. Fortunately the DOH-JFK flight is on the A350.

Flame3601 until the JFK rotation starts the two Qsuites aircraft are too expensive to be idle. So they are used in the normal 773 schedule until 16 January. Thus they may appear almost anywhere that that particular group of aircraft fly to. Whilst it appears random it is very carefully planned. We do not know the aircraft schedule so we cannot try to book for those flights.

vbh812 QR are in the process of loading the summer timetable at the moment which makes aircraft type after 26 March very unreliable. Be patient and all will be revealed!

QR do not have any aircraft with a 2-3-2 Business cabin, so that's completely wrong.

If you give us the date of travel and flight number, we should be able to tell whether it's a QSuites aircraft from QRCargo.

SeatGuru is often wrong when it comes to specific flights, to the point I think it's worthless. The airlines are much, much more accurate, and checking with the airline website will give you the definitive answer.

FlytheTail The QR website does not give an aircraft version just an aircraft type. For example 777-300ER which is all versions of the aircraft.
However Check Availability | QR-Cargo actually shows the version. (77I is non Qsuites but 77P is Qsuites).

Understood remdk, but one can tell by the seat map -- that's how I identify which aircraft version is planned (which of course is subject to change).
