Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Which routes have Qsuites?

DOH-PHL back to Qsuite 🙏

DOH-PHL We booked in Dec ‘21 for Q Suites (AA redemption) for next week knowing that changes are likely. Aircraft swap to old 777 happened sometime in the spring. Just checked our booking for 4 days out and finally moved back to Q Suites!
Hoping it sticks as it’s been a while for PHL from what I’ve read!

Good luck... I had BOS-DOH booked a year out in QSuite. Became non-Suite ~3 months pre-departure. Then back to QSuite with 5 days left. Then back to non-QSuite at T-24

I checked expertflyer and only the 19th and 20th are Qsuites so I’m not going to get my hopes up… or tell my husband yet lol.

This is my first time flying With Qatar and first time at Doha airport and my travel partner is an elderly and have mobility problem. I would like to know the following:

1) Why I am allowed only to select seat assigment for the segment SFO- DOH (without any problem), but unable to select seat assigment for DOH- MLE. If I want to select our seat now, Qatar website make me pay extra ~$70/ seat. Is there anyway to do it without paying extra money. I contacted Qatar, but not much help. Have anyone ever had the same problem like me when you select your seat on Qatar website.

2) With the new flight (changes by Qatar), I will have ~10 hrs waiting at Doha Airport instead of 1.5 hrs waiting time in my original booking.
Does my ticket will give me an access to business lounge or a free hotel voucher to stay in one of the transit hotel since my waiting time at the airport is longer than 8 hrs. I read some information online and someone mentioned that she got denied to entrance Qatar business lounge. Not sure if that is true.

I have tried to book a room at transit hotel by the hour, but get message " No room available". I have tried to do the booking on different day, but the same message appear. Not sure if the hotel block it entirely or something is wrong with the website reservation.

3) Does Doha airport has a designated rest place area which allows passenger to lie down to rest like Incheon airport or Singapore Airport. If so, can you please share the link or point me to it.
Can’t help with seat selection, but if you have OW status, you should be able to choose for free. Make sure your FF# is on file. Have you requested extra assistance since your companion has limited mobility? Just a thought to possibly get around $.

You will have access to Al Mourjan with your ticket. It’s very comfortable. Just spent 8 hours there. There are quiet areas of Al Mourjan where you can rest. I highly recommend a shower. Makes a world of difference.

The transit hotel no longer offers hourly bookings. I just tried for this week and was quoted around 350USD, which wasn’t worth it to us.

Check out the Al Mourjan Forum for more details. Have a great trip!

I changed my BOS-DOH to JFK-DOH in Feb 2023. Seems this has the highest chance of Qsuites.

How's DFW for Qsuite prioritization by QR? And if downgraded to non-Qsuite, would it be reverse herringbone or something worse?

Very high. Both flights are very reliably Qsuite, likely because of DFW's importance as a oneworld hub.

It looks like the DFW flights are either A350-1000s or B777-200LRs. Assuming it stays A350-1000 then you are guaranteed QSuite. I think there are a few B772s with 2-2-2 seating. Based on FR24 flight history seems unlikely but you could get an A359 or B77W some of which have reverse herringbone and 2-2-2.

So to conclude nobody knows until you see your aircraft takeoff from DOH.

I thought all 77Ls have been fitted with the Qsuites?

BBH and BBF don't - the latter of which was returned to the lessor and then leased again in albino livery due to the A350 grounding.

Although it looks like neither frame goes to DFW.

Hi All

Had a booking Bangalore - Doha - London Heathrow.

The DOH-LHR leg has been changed to a BA A380, So not only do i loose Qsuite, but onto a BA plane!

I have tried the online chat and they say they cannot change just that leg, and the BLR to Doh leg is fully booked (even though i am confirmed on that flight)

If i phone , is there any change that they could change just the Doh-LHR leg, there seem to be 4 other QR flights to LHR that day all selling tickets

Thanks for your help

Qsuites booking US-DOH

Hi all, I have had this question on my mind as I get my points in order to book Qsuites.

Given QR releases 2 J seats per flight, can these seats be booked by 2 different avios account at the saver rate of 70,000 avios or would the second seat show non-saver (avios 2x) after the first account books the first available seat?

Don't bet on two seats always being made available (they're not) and don't bet on geting Q Suites just because that's what was on offer when you booked. If however you can see two, buying one will not remove the other from the original inventory.

Was lucky to fly DPS DOH and DOH GRU all in 777 Quite..
Still the best business class seat IMHO (with Apex window seat).
Had a double center Quite to myself on the second flight, which was even better 😎.
Service was very good, food a bit disappointing (i fly mostly Turkish now, which I consider has a better catering compared to QR).
