Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Which routes have Qsuites?

Does anyone know, regarding the Qatar one time change policy(based on equipment swap), if I contact Qatar Airways, would they allow the change to a Qsuites equipped plane?

I see many people posting about Qatar allowing the change but I have no idea whether these people have paid revenue tickets or award based tickets. If someone out there was able to change based on an award ticket, do you know if they allowed you to change to a different route(say DFW or IAH) as they constantly have the Qsuite product?

Thank you,
Ryan
No chance I'm afraid.

I am in a similar situation as you. Unfortunately no, Asiamiles can't switch you to other flights unless there is availability

It is my understanding according to conversations in this thread that even if it was a cash ticket that QR would not allow you to make a one time change to the departing or destination airport anymore. That policy seems to have been officially eliminated in the last few months.

I believe the policy to change dates is still alive, just not destination/gateway. But then again who knows.

Any idea if they are still retrofitting 777s with the new QSuite? Or is that on hold now due to the A350 issue?

Is there any more foot space on the "bulkhead" Q-suites on the A350-1000?

I've an upcoming flight in Q-suites on the A350-1000 (LAX-DOH). Does anyone know if there is more space in the foot cubby in seats 9A/9K which face into the bulkhead, vs all the other seats which face into the console area of the adjacent seat (i.e. a wider footwell than 7A/K)?

ORD-DOH

Hi all, I’m booked on Monday, Aug 29th on QR 726 at 8:10pm. Has anyone flown this flight?

When I check on AA it says it’s flight QR726, and on Qatar it says it’s a Qsuite, but when I go to choose seats on Qatar it has the 2/2/2 configuration. Anyone familiar with this route?

I just checked on QR's website, it's the old business class seat shown below:

Some clarification on the new policy regarding Q Suite equipment swaps. I doubly confirmed this new policy with the phone agents as well, no option to change origin/destination airports, only time/dates. One other detail is you only need 1 segment to experience an equipment swap in order to swap the entire itinerary, i.e. changing a outbound segment to Q Suite would allow you to also completely modify the inbound segments for free.

My A350 a week from now just got switched from non-QSuites to QSuites. The entire middle section is available to pick, what's the consensus on the best couple's row? I picked 3 for now, but seat map looks like 7&9 are in a back/mini-cabin, is that better or worse?

Seems that the non-QSuite 777-300ERs regularly run on the NRT route. I wonder why they consistently use non-QSuite to Tokyo? I would have thought it would have been considered a more premium destination.

I wouldn't push my luck more...
Riding on the taxi on the way to airport to realize QR955 O will be flying on was upgraded to A359 QSuites...
Let's see what seat would be assigned to me, previously I secured 3A on the non QSuites

I changed my origin on my MNL-DOH ticket without a problem to CEBu instead. It depends on the occasion.

It depends on luck, not occasion. The policy seems to have changed to forbid changes of routing so unless you get lucky and the agent hasn't read the latest policy.
