Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seatIt will (eventually) be across the fleet in B777s and A350s. There will be a new seat development for the B787s as this new seat cant fit in the 787.
A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg
Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html
From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.
They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.
The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.
All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.
Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230 (probably going 3-4-3 in Y, from 217)
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Ugh. We're travelling as a family of 3 and had a quad setup where up until now there was no one seated in the 4th spot. Looks like they just put someone there even though there are still 7 other seats unassigned on our flight. We were hoping we'd get luck and have use of that spare 4th seat. oh well, at least its still Q suites.

If you have a paid subscription to flight Aware to all the previous flights for a specific flight #. It will also show you the registration, which you can then you can compare it in the wiki.

Seatmap now shows all but 2 seats occupied. 1 A & B are marked blocked. EF Availability shows J0 so looks like full load.

I did check EF. it was marked as blocked (shows X in seatmap on EF) for a long time but then yesterday changed to show solid blue indicating it's assigned now.

My ORD-DOH flight this weekend is non-QSuite, but there is a silver lining---very likely an empty seat next to me. J9 C9 D9 I9. No op-ups to fear either: Y9 B9 H9...

Hi guys! I am seeking your advice regarding my flight. I originally booked a flight from MNL-DOH-JFK with both legs in Qsuite, but just found out on expertflyer that my MNL-DOH leg (QR 935) changed to a regular 2-2-2 business class. I tried calling but the agents were not helpful and wanted to charge a fare difference to change to a qsuite flight (apparently because I haven't received an email about the aircraft change). Should l just wait to see if my original flight would revert back to Qsuite or should I push for a change to a Qsuite-equipped flight? My flight is on the 16th of August so I still have time to wait. If any of you have experienced the same, I would like to hear about your experience on how to go about this situation. And also the agents were saying that they cannot change just the MNL-DOH sector of the flight but the whole leg to JFK has to change as well. Is this true or is the agent just not aware of changing one leg of the flight?

their QR CZ number, connected to DOH, just make sure the agent knows what Qsuite means and that you are entitled for free change under Qsuite waiver called "INVOL REROUTE D/T QSUITE ACFT CHNG" - this was mentioned in my new eticket

Is there an event going on in Qatar during Mid-Late July 2023? Looking through BA for DOH-XXX business awards, I can see sporadic~plentiful availability on nearly all QSuites routes up until July 6th '23, but then literally everything goes dark afterwards for at least 2 weeks.
For completeness, I checked July 6-8 2023 for 2 pax from DOH to the following destinations: all North America (LAX, SFO, SEA, IAH, DFW, ORD, BOS, JFK, IAD, MIA), some EU (FRA, CDG, LHR), some Asia (NRT, ICN, SIN), and GRU.

Thanks for the info! Will try again to call them and sort out this issue. Also, was your flight only from MNL-DOH, or did you have a connecting flight afterward in a qsuite as well?

Will definitely tell them to ask their supervisor to confirm that the change was made. I never expected Qatar's customer service to be a hit or miss.... Quite contrary to their on board service

Following up on this now after a couple of days, I still don't see any biz availability for DOH to anywhere after July 6th using BA's search. Many have biz available on 6th and earlier and almost all have economy available. Not sure if this will change with time, but might be useful for those planning edge-of-schedule awards.
