Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.
They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.
The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.
All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.
Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Hi QR people,
New to this airline - seems like A/B and J/K seats in Q-Suites are all technically window seats? It's just that the A/K seats are right up against the windows whereas the B/J seats have the table between the seat and the window? Are there advantages/disadvantages to each seat besides whether you prefer to sit facing forward or backward? Is there more privacy with the A/K seats? Do the A/K seats feel more cramped because they're up against the window?
Thanks!

I Booked a return flight DOH-MNL for June/July. Originally was Q-Suites, then switched to older J class seats and the dreaded email informing me of the change. However, I'm happy to report that I have now completed the trip and both flights reverted to cabins with Q-Suites. I was lucky! :-)

DOH-PHL question
I've noticed since July 5 the DOH-PHL route has not been flown with a Qsuite product aircraft.
I've got a flight back from TBS later in the year and, though presently scheduled for the Qsuites, I'm wondering if route is moving to the 77I/77N aircraft.
Thanks for your insight.
Edit: checking EF it looks, for most days, through late October it is a non-Qsuite flight

How likely do we think that is that all 777-300 aircraft will be outfitted with Qsuites one year from now?
I need to fly CPT-DOH-ICN in July 2023 and both routes are presently served mostly by Qsuite-equipped 777-300s however seatguru & expertflyer are showing Qatar having "reverted" to aircraft with the old 2-2-2 business seats for all flights on these routes from basically January of 2023 onwards ... there aren't that many of these 777-300s left in the fleet (<25%?), perhaps these are just placeholders?

Scheduled to fly on the A35K and hoping to get a window (A or K) seat. The only A/K seats currently available are in row 9 or row 11. There are plenty of B or J seats available. Row 11 is a no-go for me - too close to the lavs and the bassinet seats in Y are not far away.
I am debating between 9A / 9K or one of the B/J seats. My main hesitation is that I’m wondering how intrusive light and noise would be from behind row 9. I would pick a comparable seat on BA (non-suites, such as 3A on a 788) without hesitation but not sure if I’d find an “aisle” seat more relaxing in this case.
Any thoughts welcome!

I would go 9A/K. Probably K first as there tends to be less action on that side of planes. I have never found the light etc to be that much of an issue, you are pretty much snuggled in your own world. That said I have never found an issue with row 11 either - other than I do not like all the people going past me on boarding.
Pick one of those in 9, and then check the seat map regularly, as you may get lucky on another seat. Enjoy!
