Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Finally got the Qsuite

Initially booked a four leg Qsuite CDG to CGK which ended up changed to 2 1 month before the travel. Then 24h before my first flight, Qsuite disappeared and I ended up on the A350 without it. My last chance was the last leg DOH CDG on B777-300 with Qsuite. All looked well but as it is a DOH departure, I knew it could change any minute. 2h before while I am in the lounge, Expert flyer sends a notification for aircraft change… fortunately the change was to a 777-200 with Qsuite but the email scared me!!.

all in all an amazing experience with Qatar ( Qsuite or no) although I would have loved to have Qsuite on the longer leg. Hopefully I ll be able to fly again with them in business class soon
Turnpike likes this.

I don't think ORD 725 exists anymore. Just checked my Oct 3-17th flight ORD 726 and its no longer qsuite, no email ofc. Checked other days and its seemingly for the entire month of October. No way of knowing if its a permanent change for the route. I guess the only option is to talk strategy about using the 1 time departure change they offer. Would I be able to fly out of DFW instead of ORD without having to pay the price difference of the new ticket? DFW route is still showing all qsuite.

I would check Houston as well, I am currently scheduled on that one, and really hope it does not change.

On an upcoming trip, all Qsuites are occupied aside from some blocked quad seats and 1A / 2B which I understand are also blocked. Can I call QR to select one of the quad seats or other blocked seats?

To complicate matters, the booking is through a corporate TA on a BA codeshare, although I was able to select an available window seat for the return flight online (via the QR website) with no problem.

Same as other poster. Booked my flight QR 726 from ORD to Male in October for honeymoon. No Q-Suite. I cancelled my flight. Wondering if I should book Emirates Business class now.

Missed connection in PHL to MLE on QR J due to
Maintenance issues on AA initial flight .

AA help desk at PHL airport can only reroute me on Y tomorrow. is it possible to be rerouted on J QR since it’s AA’s fault? AA call desk wait is 2 hrs…

I’d imagine if you booked J and it was a connection they allowed you to book they’d have to book you in J again or refund

We did the same, but booked QR724 but was unknowingly rebooked on QR726. Frustrating alone because it gets us in a full day later than original flight, and they won't move us to the day earlier. Was confirmed QSuites on all legs but 1 when we booked. Now all the Qsuites are gone. Don't know what to do, if it's even worth it at this point. We also scored a major deal with Marriott points for the Ritz in the Maldives that we don't want to cancel, but the flights were also a huge point of the trip!

Since your original flight is cancelled, you could move to another flight with QSuites departing from another US destination.
However, once you confirm this change, you would be responsible for your own travel between Chicago and your new departure city.

Not a bad idea, but unfortunately we won't have time to add another leg to the trip (and trying to keep connections to an absolute minimum due to travel anxiety). All the changes from QR I've been seeing on these forums don't give me much hope, but there's always the....slight....chance that it switches back I guess

Not sure when is your flight but if your flight is not within the near future, yes, QR might revert the aircraft type back to a Qsuites equipped aircraft.

Same as other posters Keojisu and CoolJ flight isn't until October, so there's time to hold out hope. But the fact that the whole month of October now shows no Qsuites (and they removed the QR724 flight option in its entirety), seems like there's something bigger driving these changes that doesn't give me much confidence of a reversal.

May be a silly question, but what is the underlying logic? If 725/726 is non-Q for all of October, it could be that the two planes assigned to ORD round trips are being pulled out for servicing/upgrades/etc. But for a whole month? And does QR have a stable of non-Q planes (e.g. 777) parked somewhere and ready to be put into service as needed?
