Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seatIt will (eventually) be across the fleet in B777s and A350s. There will be a new seat development for the B787s as this new seat cant fit in the 787.
A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg
Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html
From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.
They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.
The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.
All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.
Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230 (probably going 3-4-3 in Y, from 217)
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

I think @m0hamed's point was that the QR 380 doesn't have Q Suite; thus Q Suites (post 1 June) are only available into other Australian cities, until/unless an additional flight is added, or a 380 gets subbed out.

I am flying QSuite again this year. It is an over the top experience. Their technology leaves a lot to be desired however. The app is fairly useless first of all. The Oryx One app, which is the entertainment app, will show a list of movies and Tv shows but will not allow a log in to save the list of favorites. I’ve never figured out how to transfer a playlist from Oryx One to the IFE through he NFC system and there is nothing online about it. I am determined to figure this out!
I love Qatar and will be in their Q Suite many times this year!

Got the dreaded email for a second time today, for the only remaining leg with QSuite, after QR already changed my entire itinerary by a day. Flying NRT-DOH-AGP, all with QR and booked it specifically for QSuite.
First time flying Business Class but I decided to cough up the cash for it as I'll be going to Spain for surgery, and I wanted to have as much privacy and comfort as possible, especially on the return flight. At the time I didn't realize equipment changes were a thing and, based on how QSuite is promoted almost exclusively on QR's website, I naively thought it was available on all longhaul flights. In any case, both NRT-DOH and DOH-NRT were QSuite when I booked them.
A little under two months ago I got an email that my itinerary was changed to a day later both ways, and my choice was to accept or cancel and wait who knows how long for a refund. I chose to accept after a lot of back and forth with the hospital until they were finally able to reschedule my pre-op exams to accommodate the new itinerary. Then one month ago or so I got the first email about an equipment change on NRT-DOH. I wasn't thrilled, but after trying and failing to change to an earlier date (which would have been better for me anyway) I kept it as is. Then today I got the email notifying me that the DOH-NRT flight has also had an equipment change, and this one I'm honestly quite angry about because that's when I'll need it the most and the whole reason I booked this expensive ticket in the first place. I once again tried to get it changed but there were no available QSuite flights within a 10-day period!
At this point, it feels like deceptive marketing. I understand that planes get switched for unavoidable reasons, but for them to change it this far in advance makes it harder to believe that it's unavoidable. I'm hoping they change back but not very optimistic. Right now all I want is to at least have an empty seat next to mine so I can have some illusion of privacy still.

Chicago flights 725/726 changed to non-QSuite 777 on Aug 6, 13, 20. No e-mail. Really obnoxious, these two flights have generally been reliably QSuites. I know I can move to another flight for free---I can do that under Book With Confidence even without the QSuite issue---but there is no point, they could change it back.

I have the same 'problem' with my DOH-MNL flights in June and July. When I booked last month, it was a plane with Q-Suites. I looked at the seating yesterday and the plane was changed to a non-Q Suites configuration (now showing a 777-300ER with only four rows of J class. My fingers are crossed that it will change again next month. Oh well!

Hi all
Long time reader.... 1st time poster.
Just my experience with QR900 DOH - PER which I flew on May 3rd.
When I booked it initially for the 6th of May, it was operated by Qsuite 350-1000, Then a month or so out it changed to 777-300 (Qsuite). About 2 weeks out it changed to the non q-suite 2-2-2 config.
I called the Irish customer service line and got through to a lovely agent pretty quickly. I requested a free change as the flight had changed from non-qsuite and the agent was pretty helpful and agreed they will indeed offer a free one time change if the flight changes to non qsuite aircraft.
I changed to the May 3rd flight and thanked the helpful agent.
I kept an eye on expert flyer daily for the 2 weeks leading up to the flight.... still Q-Suite.
The evening before departure I checked the seat map for probably the 10521 time and my heart sank as I seen the 2-2-2 config!! At this stage there was nothing I could do and accepted fate.
I have to say, the older config was so comfortable and it was a really enjoyable flight. It lacks a lot of privacy but all in all I was still really happy with my experience.
The chase for Qsuite continues.........

I was gonna be on that one, but instead I am on the 7th, and of course it is 2-2-2..... Really annoying. I am hoping DOH-IAH is such a long flight that they have to use the 350-1000, but with how frequent equipment swaps are, I don't know.
