Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seatA video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.
They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.
The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.
All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.
Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Question, am booking a flight for myself and wife and we want to have the double bed sleep thing and be next to each other on the flight.
When selecting seats I am not sure if only the red seats (rear facing) below will allow us to convert to double or even the blue seats (front facing)?
Also, any difference between A350 and B777 Q Suite? Is one preferred over another generally?
Thanks

I don't know when you are travelling, but I would suggest that you check periodically as lots of people change their travel plans given restrictions/cancellations at their final destination.
Maybe you get a subscription to ExpertFlyer and put on alert on the other E&F seats?
BTW, I am surprised that all the other E&F seats are reserved. Maybe they are "blocked" by QR and you could call them to unblock them; just maybe.
I have flown the A351 4 times, usually 3E&F. Once a pax in 1E kept complaining about the toilet door noise repeatedly.

Aircraft types could change anytime including closer to departure so there is no confirmation on what aircraft type is going to fly on the DOH-CPT route this fall.

Q Suite Headphone Plug
All the pictures I see of the Q Suite show some weird triangle 3 pin plug for the headphone jack. Anyone know what is up with that. If I am bringing my own Noise Canceling headphones with a standard 3.5mm plug can I use them? Do I need a 2 pin airline adapter? Whats the third pin for…power for their Oryx One Noise Canceling headphones? Just want to make sure I have what I need for my Saturday JFK-DOH-CPT flights. Thanks!

You reckon this also is when the only other option after a schedule change from their side has been made?
They just cancelled my 01:45 AM flight to MXP and put me on the 08:35 AM one. This would mean a 10 hour (!) layover at Doha for me. Only other option that day, which I would definitely prefer now, is take the 01:45 AM flight to Munich and then transfer on Lufthansa to MXP. No other direct flight they can put me on. Would this mean I could try / be entitled to swap their schedule change to the route via Munich, or am I really just stuck now for 10 hours on DOH? As they do not offer any hotel or sleeping facility right?

That's actually impressive that they are doing that especially since they are under no obligation to guarantee a q-suite flight. I know agents on the phone have allowed changes for free with some pushing in the past. I wonder if this email is sent to all pax or just QR status pax. Either way, a customer service win for QR

You can use either plug for a standard plug headphone. I initially was using my airplane adapter to simply have a nice 90 deg bend, but discovered it was 2x as loud compared to plugging into just one jack. Right and left are correct with a single plug and you're not missing anything. I never could figure out what the third 'dot' was for as it wasn't something that looks like anything that would accept a plug. It could be for the airline headphones, but I never even took those out of the bag. Hope this helps and enjoy qsuite!

So I never use the airline headphones and instead use my AKG K240 studio monitors as my ears never tire from them. I too was wondering so I played with it while in my suite.

Yep, full stereo and full sound. I was listening to some classic Madonna tracks that I haven't listened to on my k240s and could pick out things I have never heard in other listening environments (hence why they're called studio monitors and studios use them). If the source material was digitized down or the r/l channels messed up, the mix wouldn't have sounded as clear. You're fine--just plug in and enjoy.

Apologies if this has been answered already. How many aircrafts have QSuites?
1. A350-900 (out of total 34)?
2. A350-1000. All 19 have QSuite.
3. B772LR (out of total 9)?
4. B77W (out of total 48)? Anyone know split between 24J & 42J QSuite configurations?
