Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

just noticed that for my reservation in April. I’ve heard really great things about the A351. Looking forward to it. I was a life long Boeing fan, especially enjoy the Qsuites on the Triple. But a few flights on QR’s A359 have made me reconsider. I full expect to LOVE the Q suite ride on the A351. Cheers!

I think I might be in the minority but I prefer the herringbone seats for a day flight. The cabin is open and bright compared the the enclosed Q Suite cabin.

Qr 701 - doh-jfk

Just thought I would share my experience on my first Q Suites flight. I really enjoyed the experience. The food I thought was really good, the privacy and functionality of the seat is great as well. Service was great with the first flight attendant while the second one was just ok; giving it an above average rating overall for me 😆. Here is my experience below. Hope this helps anyone wondering what to expect on this route or Q suites in general.

I am looking to do Madrid to Tokyo in August. Both planes are listed as 777's, which I think means I will defo get the QSuite from Doha to Tokyo and back. However, the Madrid legs look like it is more up in the air. Does anyone have experience of this route and/or know when all the 777's should be QSuite only?

Not sure when all of the 777’s will have Qsuites but I would always be prepared ( manage your expectations ) in the event you don’t get Qsuites as equipment changes can and do happen from q suites to non q suites but also vice versa. Until every QR long haul plane has Qsuites then you always run the risk of getting equipment swapped to a non Qsuite aircraft.

I'm flying DOH - MNL and back next week, a route I've flown quite a lot with QR, always to this point with the old 2x2 seating configuration. I've just looked on the seat map and it appears we've got Q Suite for both sectors, the QR928 outbound and the QR935 inbound, does anyone know if this is a recent change? It's very welcome if it is but I am not getting my hopes up yet!

Many thanks,

I wondered whether we might see more changes like this due to the suspension of flights in/out of China. With the Beijing and Shanghai routes both advertised as being QSuite routes for at least the part I guess their are a few B773's with some space in their schedule most days?

Ah, thanks, that's an interesting suggestion and sounds potentially quite likely

I am flying ATL-DOH in a few weeks and just noticed they switched from 2x2x2 777 to Q Suites so there is a lot of this going on which is great.

QR838 DOH-BKK on Monday just switched from A350-900 to 777. If it was previously on a route that is now cancelled, I hope they... clean it well.

My DOH - BKK flight QR980 on 24/02 also changed from 2-2-2 777 to Qsuite 777. Hope it stays like that 😉

We’ve just come back from AKL enjoying QSuites both ways DOH-AKL and AKL-DOH.

Our opinion might be unpopular on this thread but we have actually slept better on the old seats in the A350-900 that flies DOH-OSL...

We do love everything else about QSuites but beds weren’t very comfy to us.
