Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

It will (eventually) be across the fleet in B777s and A350s. There will be a new seat development for the B787s as this new seat cant fit in the 787.

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230 (probably going 3-4-3 in Y, from 217)
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Lucky you. We are also ex-HK tonight but apparent no Q-suite. bummer. I was sure they were when I booked it. Is there any way to tell from the original itinerary?

Yes, my upcoming flights have both switched to Q suites to and from MAN. Fingers crossed that makes it 4/4 for Q suites on my trip to Singapore.

Are these on the A359 flights? I've had a switch out before to MAN but never a purposefully dedicated flight. Be interesting if they have changed the route to Qsuites, more refitted planes? Although I think the lounge experience from LHR will probably keep me flying from there when feasible anyway.

I was on a 777-300ER to MAN and it was QSuites. I have an A350-900 flight next week and the seat map indicates it isn't QSuite.

My MAN flights are both scheduled as 700-300ER - originally it was showing the very old 2x2x2 seating.

DPS aircraft allocation seems very random. At time of writing 3 aircraft in the air going to or from DPS, a 787 an A350 and a 777. None appear to have QSuites but the crewing costs must be huge.

I noticed the to a few weeks ago when looking at schedules. That said speaking to a few crew and pursers last month when I travelled many of them are cross trained and licensed on differing aircraft variants. This could mean a multiple destination rotations that they fly back on a differ at aircraft and mixed crews, must be a rostering nightmare.
