Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

They said that at check in. We got there at 6pm and planned to leave at midnight (flight at 210am). This trip is for our 25th anniversary. At dinner in Al Safwa, they gave us a FULL size cake with Happy 25th Anniversary on it. Delicious-but we couldn't finish 1/3 of it-and I tried. As we started to leave about 11:50. the lounge manager literally chased us and said we were welcome to stay until 130 as it was out anniversary. Our flight was from C22, so we had two lattes and left around 1245 or 1250 I think.

We have not flown Qatar before-and I know we had issues with the Q Suite, but I would seek them in a moment again. Just great treatment. I wish I had more opportunity to fly them. We are thinking about Africa or Thailand which would give us opportunities.

Hmmm ... we're probably flying BA for our 40th. I doubt we'll even get a Gold greeting on board, but then how would BA know anyway?

A350-1000s and the last A350-900 which should be delivered this month. And then the 787-9s (starting Q4 2019) and 777x in a couple of years.
Are you saying the 789s will have Qsuite? I thought QR has no Qsuite that will fit any 787.

As others have noted, various South Africa routes are showing Qsuite. I have JNB-DOH booked for next spring and it is showing a Qsuite 359.

I've had two QR paid F flights with terrible kids. A family (well, wives and kids) had a baby that screamed the entire 7-hour flight, FAs tried to get one of the wives to take the kid to the "social area" in the back of F but they refused. They also had a toddler who spent most of the flight running wildly up and down the aisles.

Horrible, I feel for you. This is unfortunately a risk when flying Arabic airlines...

The wiki at the top of this thread agrees with you.

Just flew in the 77L with QSuites LAX-DOH followed a few hours later by a non-QSuites flight in a 350 ex-DOH. After trying QSuites several times, now, I can honestly say that I definitely prefer the previous generation J seating (the one currently in the 380). While clearly not as private as the QSuites, they also don't feel as closed in. QSuites have a lot packed into them, and there's really no room to move. I do feel a bit claustrophobic in the QSuites, and I'm not claustrophobic at all. It also feels like there's more miscellaneous storage space for stuff in the earlier J product.

We flew our first q suite flight the other day and our kids 7 and 8 were behaved as they were in 7th heaven with a big TV and food just appearing!

In the next quad there was a lady with a couple of kids who were basically appeased by a phone screen with its volume up or one of them screamed. This went on for sometime and I had to ask the FA to have a quiet word as the entire cabin was trying to sleep but were being kept awake by tinny sounds from a bright mobile phone..

Anyhoo I loved the Qsuite bar it was far far too hot for comfortable sleeping and I didn't like the Male PJ s. I dont like V neck things so probably more my personal taste than anything.

I tend to agree with you. I can mostly take or leave the door (except when there are kids running up and down the aisle). Foot cubby aside, the actual seat on the previous J product is much more comfortable

Sorry if I'm asking a question that's obvious, but what's the QSuite Bar, and which planes have them?

I can understand people who tend toward claustrophobia preferring the previous generation (open reverse-herringbone). For others, the extra privacy of the Qsuite makes the difference between sleeping and not.

I take it you were in quad seats (center seats) on an A350? Window seats on an A350, and all seats on a B777, have individual air nozzles. I vehemently disagree with airlines such as QR choosing the aesthetics of an open look instead of the practicality of overhead bins and individual air nozzles over the center seats. Having your own air nozzle allows those who feel cold to close it and warm up, while those who feel hot can open it to the desired extent and cool their area. It makes an enormous difference!

A further problem is that cabin crew sets the temperature based on what it's like in the galley. But it's always cooler in the galley because of doors on both sides.

I consider that part of the base problem (not anything additional), for which individual air nozzles are a terrific help. Many airlines set cabin temperatures too high anyway, and cabin crew feeling cold in the galley is part of the problem.

I'm always overheated when flying in center seats on QR A350s, Qsuite or not, but nice and comfy on 777 center seats, since I can open my air nozzle (and my spouse's if I need it, which I haven't).

Sounds like my first F flight with QR CDG-Doh It was a nightmare, a baby screaming and the parents couldn’t give a f**k
ended up spending most of the flight drinking in the bar.
